Where can I get brown paper lunch bags printed with my child's name?

Here's a couple ways:
1. Buy several packages of brown paper lunch bags and take them to Kinko's. They'll print your child's name on them very reasonably.
2. Have a stamp made at Office Depot or Office Max of your child's name. Again, very reasonable, and you can stamp many, many bags in the future with your child's name.
3. Type out your child's name, then take the paper to a photocopier and run the bags through to imprint the name. This method is great because you can add a cute message like "Do your best today!" or "Have fun!" in addition to the name.

They're bags and purses that are like solid colored with brown leather straps. The most common color I always see people with is navy blue but I've seen other colored ones. I can't think of what they're called and it's bugging me! Does anyone know what I'm
talking about? Sorry i can't think of a lot ofinfo .Thanks

i cant afford a hybrid or solar panels or anything but i have bought myself reusable lunch bags and a lunch box to stop my plastic use, i recycle, um any more suggestions please?

If you want to save resources and keep waste out of landfills, try giving away items that you would otherwise throw in the trash.

Freecycle is a great yahoo group that connects you with people in your area who want to take the items that you would otherwise throw out. Broken appliances, old text books, used envelopes, broken dishes: you can offer up practically ANYTHING, and there's always someone out there who wants what you're throwing out. I even save all of my non-recyclable plastic, glass, styrophoam, and wood containers and food packaging (egg cartons, styrophoam meat plates, tissue boxes, old light bulbs, toilet paper rolls, etc.) and give them away to art teachers and craftspeople who use them for projects.

Freecycling is really the best mode of conservation that i've discovered.

Some other ideas:

In the vane of supplanting disposable lunch bags with a reusable lunch box, how about switching from paper napkins to cloth napkins. I just did, and i actually PREFER using cloth napkins: they're much more durable; you can usually use them for a few meals before you have to wash them (unless you eat something really messy or greasy), and they feel much nicer on the face than paper napkins

Take mass transit whenever possible.

Try to keep a set of METAL cutlery and a dish in your car, in your office, at your desk, and anywhere else you commonly eat meals. Then, whenever you get take out, tell them "No silverware, please." Just like with the napkins, you actually enjoy the meal more when you use the nice stuff instead of the disposables.

Use your own reusable cloth grocery bags instead of plastic/paper grocery bags. Bed Bath and Beyond has a great bag for $4.99: it's really large, so you need fewer bags to carry your grocery order; it's got long, sturdy straps so you can put it over your shoulder, and best of all it prevents waste.

Unplug all electrical items when you're not using them or when you leave home. A circuit breaker with an on/off switch makes this easier. Many electrical appliances actually use more power when they're turned OFF than when they're in use.

Think about switching to reusable health/hygiene items instead of disposables: from band-aids to wrap bandages, regular toothbrush to electric toothbrush (incidentally, electric toothbrush is like 10x better at cleaning your teeth), and from tampons/pads to the Moon Cup or Diva Cup.

FINALLY, don't become a celebrity. The celebrity species consumes massive amounts of energy-- particularly the "Green," environmentally conscious celebrities. Using your own private jet every time you travel, or keeping a huge, gas-fueled private trailor running 24-hours a day on a movie set is not exactly being environmentally responsible.

I am at wits end for healthy lunches to pack. My office complex has fast food everywhere and it's making me broke and unhealthy. We have microwaves and fridges at work. Help?

Great question.
Buy in bulk, cook in bulk, and package individually to heat at work.
Purchase lean proteins on sale! (My favorite is pork steaks.. they broil beautifully, and they are huge... one piece can be cut in thirds for an individual serving! One week it may be pork... the next chicken, then fish, then turkey. Purchase the family packs for more savings! And, the times you don't want to cook... look for the Lean Cuisines on sale... they truly are tasty. You can print coupons online to use with the store sale price to save even more! Allowing you to purchase them for around $$2.00!
Back to the prep work! Take the "meat" and marinade it or use a rub... you can purchase different flavors like Italian, lemon pepper, BBQ, you get the point. After you've finished seasoning the entire pack... place the seasoned "meat" on a cookie sheet and broil it in the oven! After they have cooled place them in individual small freezer bags and toss them in the freezer. If they're
over sized, divide them to smaller portions. Each day on the way to work take one out of the freezer and put it in your lunch bag, when you arrive at work, put in in the fridge, so it can thaw... then microwave it. Also, select veggies that you like... and again, what it on sale, prepare them... put them in individual serving containers... and take one to work with your "meat entree" and all you will need to add is a whole grain roll, and a piece of fruit! Yummy... to eat! And the money you save will be worth the prep work for a great lunch at work.
