Does a man have to say the word "date" when he is planning a date with a woman?

Based on some responses to my earlier Q:

Let's say I want to have a lunch date with a woman. She is not a co-worker and no previous friendship was established. Surely, she can figure out it is a date? Why can't I use indirect "signals" as a man? This is not reserved solely for women (you know, hair flipping, smiling, turning her head, etc)? I've got my own bag of "signals" as well.

Princess Stef. once called the man paying a "social cue" (romantic intent/date) vs. just being friendly.

Answer
if the woman is interested, "date" is the word she wants to hear.

if the woman isn't interested at all but you got a thing for her just tell her you want to grab lunch. if she's hungry and you're hungry she won't think anything of it, especially if it's just casual. and from there you can talk and start reading into her signals and just play it cool.

i only consider it a date when he says "i need a date" or "i'm looking for someone to go with to this event"

sometimes though i see through the guy and what wasn't considered or coined as a date slowly appears or turns out to be one. i sense this stuff over time after numerous lunch outings. in that case if i'm not interested, then that freaks me out cus then it's like "Surprise! We're on a date and we've been on numerous ones without you knowing!!" and i feel like i'm in a trap and i need to escape and avoid this guy. I'd rather just have the guy be upfront, like "hey i wanna get to know you, let's hang out sometime" then all awkwardness is set aside and i sorta know his intentions and can decide from there.

Say, if you know you aren't too good or sly/ keen with the ladies or you doubt her interest in you, then you might just wanna opt for the "are you hungry?" and take baby steps in which she hopefully slowly falls for you after getting to know you and then you can present the future idea of a "date" with less chance of rejection.

good luck

Mainly this is for the women in my family. I have done ornaments already... and need a cute idea for just the girls. I cant afford the lavish gifts I have bought everyone the past couple years, but dont want to just not get them something.

What you'll need:
Brownie Mix
Chocolate Or Vanilla frosting
5 candy canes.
Brownie mix supplies

Make the brownies(follow the instructions on the package), then take them out when they're ready. Let them cool COMPLETELY! Next cut the brownies out, one by one, about 5 x 3 so you'll have 15. Take the frosting & well cover! After that, somehow- with a hammer or a hard tool crush the candy canes into tiny pieces and sprinkle them on top of the brownies.

You can get some scrapbooking supplies and make lovely christmas cards. I saw this really good idea on HGTV. They took brown paper bags for lunch, and folded the front side where you'd place the items in upward. (you hold the bag upside down from the opening and fold it upward) You'd decorate it with the scrapbooking supplies and possibly place a card, gift card, some cash in the opening pocket.

If you go onto HGTV.com I'm sure you can find the idea!

Also if you can knit, make them homemade scarves, gloves, maybe a blanket. You can make candles for them, that's always fun.

Homemade cookies, fudge, candy, etc!
Look up ideas online. Google and Yahoo!'s search bars should do you some good!

Wikihow.com and ehow.com are great for DIY ideas!

Happy holidays!
