How to prepare a bento and how long will it last/safe to eat?

I want to take my lunch to school this year, and I want to take a bento lunch. I was wondering how I may prepare this lunch (any tutorials will help) and how long it will last out of a refrigerator. If I do store it in a refrigerator, how should I heat it up in a microwave.. wouldn't that kill the whole point? Haha Thanks! Just rather not get food poisoning or a bacterial infection, I just got my wisdom teeth out. ;)

Answer
"Do you eat the lunches hot, cold, or at room temperature?

Thereâs no microwave oven at my sonâs school, so most of the lunches shown here are meant to be eaten cool (packed in insulated lunch bags with ice packs) or at room temperature. The only foods that turn out warm are those packed in thermal lunch jars or thermal food jars. If you have a refrigerator and a microwave oven available where youâll eat, you may want to pack a cold bento lunch with multiple tiers packed so that you can easily microwave only the container of foods you want to eat warm (i.e. keep the fruit away from the meat). If youâre going to microwave your lunch, be sure to use a microwave-safe container. Details at the hot vs. cold lunch packing considerations post.

Isnât room temperature food dangerous?

Reusable ice blanket for packed lunchesBe mindful of packed lunch food safety: bacteria thrive on moisture and protein at room temperature. Use an ice pack and an insulated lunch bag when packing particularly perishable foods that will be unrefrigerated for more than two hours. Freeze little pudding cups, juice boxes, or containers of canned fruit to use as edible ice packs. Certain foods like oregano and cilantro have antibacterial qualities that help prevent food spoilage; spice food more aggressively than usual if you will be eating lunch at room temperature (details at the food safety post).

I donât want to microwave or pack food in plastic containers. What are my options?

Stainless steel food containers - Thereâs information on the risks of microwaving in plastic at the post on tempered glass bento boxes, which are microwave-safe but heavy. Stainless steel boxes like these or multi-tiered tiffin tins like ToGo Ware are lighter, and can be warmed in a stovetop steamer. Or line plastic boxes with an edible liner such as lettuce so that the food does not touch the plastic directly. Details are at the hot vs. cold lunch packing considerations post. The Gear section of the Lunch in a Box community forum has the most up-to-date information on the latest bento gear of all kinds."

What are some lunch ideas that don't need a microwave?

Tanya

I found some good containers that keep food cold (which is great because there is no access to a refrigerator) but no good ones that keep food hot/warm (at least, not in my budget). I'm going to be starting college in a couple of weeks and the only thing I can think to take are sandwiches and salads. Any ideas on what to take would be awesome (healthy ideas would be more so), thanks.

Answer
have you thought about a thermos?

or an insulated lunch bag?

as long as you put stuff thats already hot in it they will keep it warm

otherwise if you have access to hot water you could have noodle cups

or if you have a sandwich press you could toast your sandwich

or you could have wraps

How can I warm up a bottle if I am not near a microwave?

insulated lunch bag baby on ... the Limelight Metallic Thermal Tote, Insulated Lunch Bag, Cooler, Gold
insulated lunch bag baby image

AuroraBore

My daughter is 6 months old and I just weaned her (from breastfeeding) and I have started to give her formula.

Let me make this clear. I am not warming the formula. Just the water...for like 20 seconds. she won't drink it otherwise.

But if I am out shopping or at an appointment, how can I warm up the bottle?

Answer
Once the bottle is warm it's good for 2 hours, as long as the baby hasn't drunk any then it's good for an hour. If you know you are going to be out long, carry the bottle(s) in an insulated carrier with ice packs and ask for hot water to warm it up.. It only takes a few minutes. By the way this is what I do.

I use my lunch bag as it holds 3 4oz bottles, works great. Keeps them cold for hours. I always carry what I need plus 1 extra bottle, just incase.

Easy healthy snacks to make in college?

RADiOACtiV

I need some healthy snack suggestions for when I'm off in college

Answer
I remember the curse of the Freshman 15! Back then, we only had some vending machines and a toaster over to heat things with! And the dorm cafeteria's idea of healthy was to serve pizza with spaghetti, creamed corn, and ham! So, if I had a do-over, here's what I'd check out:

1. Mini fridge in the dorm room
2. Microwave
3. Insulated lunch bag or tote for hot and cold items
4. Thermos

And, I'd create a "pantry" of items I could chow down on that would enhance the brain cells and not the waistline! These would include:

1. Almonds: the raw, unsalted ones are best, but I prefer the roasted and lightly salted ones myself
2. Protein: protein is a great brain regenerator! String cheese, lean roasted turkey, uncured ham and cheese rollups, trail mix (without all the sugar)
3. Fruit: fresh is best, but a nice treat is to mix your almonds with craisins or raisins. Dried fruit is good, but has alot of sugar. Stick with organic if you can. Apples and string cheese are a good combo when you're hungry!
4. Cereal: High fiber cereal bars, or cereal that you can eat by the handful, stick with high protein cereals and high fiber cereals.
5. Dairy: greek yogurt is terrific and low in fat while high in protein. Watch out for all the sugary ones that are out there. String cheese, cottage cheese, watch out for the canned cheeses or processed cheeses.
6. Chocolate: dark chocolate is best, look for dark chocolate with at least 65% cocoa. A little goes a long way, but some real yummy treats include dark chocolate covered ginger, acai, peanuts, raisins.
7. Water: pure, filtered is best and you need at least 8 glasses a day. Watch out for the sparkling waters that contain hidden ingredients.
8. Veges: fresh baby carrots, celery, cauliflower, broccoli, edamame, all count and can be easily dipped in a variety of sauces, including my favorite, spicy Ranch. Peanut butter is a natural!
9. Gotta have it: look for brown rice krispy treats, good chocolate, such as Green's or Lindt, sugar free or stevia made puddings, you get the idea.
10: Soup: watch out for the cream based ones, but sometimes a good bowl of clam chowder or tomato soup just hits the spot!
11. Bread/crackers: I go for gluten free myself, and enjoy rice crackers with a variety of cheeses and peanut butter.
12. Oatmeal: Not the sugary packaged kind. You can find unprocessed oats that are organic in the natural foods section.

Check out Trader Joe's, they have lower prices and a great variety.

Good luck and have fun!

I always get so tired at work around 2pm. How can I stay more alert?

trendy lunch bags for women on Chic Lunch Bag

Q. I get so sluggish and exhausted. I feel like I can't even type...Sometimes, I even put my head down. Can someone help one this?
- I sleep 7-8 hours a night.
- I am a Receptionist (data entry).

Answer
Oh--can I relate--first I have to disagree with the coffee and tea answer. Hurts more than it helps for most.

Your work environment has a lot to do with it----do you have natural light--as in a window?

If possible, take a short break right before the "sluggish hour" and go for a walk, preferably outside. Fresh air and motion stimulates blood flow, increases heart rate, heightens alertness.

I am a woman nearing middle age, that is if I live to be 100, and I have found some things that work for me.

Keep hydrated--I know this is almost trendy in the US these days, but it is so important. Doesn't have to be expensive bottled water. I freeze bottles of water and take a couple to work each day in a small cooler bag with my lunch. The ice melts through the day, I have cold, refreshing water all day, and it keeps my lunch in the bag cold. I add fressh lemon for a little extra flavor.

Eat small amounts frequently thru the day-- a good mix of protein, vegetables or fruit, and some carbs. Depending on your work situation, this may or may not be possible, but your employer may give you the okay for several short breaks over one long lunch hour if it adds to your productivity.

Do I have to say get the right amount of sleep? Too much is just as bad as not enough and can really add to that 2:00 pm drop off syndrome, experience speaking. Adjust your hours of sleep and find the right balance.

Finally (almost)--are you bored with or resenting your job?? Time for a change, that will wake things up!

Finally-(really)--check with your doctor. There are a number of physical problems that manifest themselves as fatigue.

Good luck!

Vera tote or backpack for 8th grade?

Robin

So I'm going into 8th grade and I really wanted a tote this year. The thing is I would have a lot of things but I would also use my locker. Like on the first day I think it would be really filled but once I get in the swing of things it should be fine. I went to my local store that sells Vera Bradley and found the one I want. My mom wanted to buy it today but I said no since I might change my mind. I will probably have 3 binders (maybe 4 probably not). 1 spiral notebook, 2 little notebooks. (The marble ones). Than 4 folders. I also will have a pencil case that I will not cary in my binders. It really depends on my schedule. I know for a fact I will not have all 4 classes before lunch. (That's when we go to our lockers). But since I'm in 8th grade this year our lockers are upstairs and most of our classes are upstairs 2 except for science and some specials. So a lot of 8th graders just went to their lockers in between classes this year. They also didn't put a lock on their lockers. Since these are gran new they don't have the built in locks. So some people just left them off. Which is very stupid but smart at the same time. It saves a lot of time but is it worth it? I don't think anyone will steal my stuff but still.... But I don't know if I should get a tote or a backpack. I have been using backpacks for years. In 4th grade I had a bag and I think I loved it but I kinda forget lol. So is the tote worth it? Does it have a lot of space? I also didn't find a backpack I liked. I looked EVERYWHERE!! Online and in stores so I think this tote is the way to go. I would get island blooms. My friends say not to get it since its gonna hurt my shoulder but I still kinda want it. Please help. Name the reasons why I soukd get a tote and why they are good. And if I will have enough space. Remember I would probably only have all that stuff at once on the first day of school. I would be carrying everything around at once like I did last year.

Answer
I think backpack is good for 8th grade.backpack can be great for college students and working women alike. It is trendy and durable at the same time.

I like my protein shakes with milk so I was thinking about mixing my protein and milk before i leave the house and drink it about 2-3 hrs later. It will be in a lunch bag with one of those blue ice cubes. I just dont think it will provide the temperature needed for the milk to stay good.

Answer
I think you'll be fine since you have it on an ice pack.

Technically, once dairy products rise above 40 degrees (F), bacterial growth 'could' occur. The warmer it is, the more likely.

You could just use a insulated thermos. That keeps things hot or cold for several hours.

Is it safe to send meat in my son's lunch at school?

proud nerd

My son has an insulated lunch bag, but still has four hours between the time he goes to school and the time he eats lunch. Is it safe to give him ham or turkey sandwiches? He can't have peanut butter, since a child in his class is allergic to peanuts. What other types of sandwiches can I make for him?

Answer
I have the same problem with no peanut butter. So I freeze the sandwich container over night (empty) and put a small ice pack in the lunch bag for the day. It works for us and she says her fruit and juice stay cold as well.
Hope that helps...

That means my style staement is

" clean and simple , with a dash of funk"

what about you?

Answer
That's awesome! There is nothing like being yourself.

When I was younger I wore makeup every and made sure I wore perfect, stylish clothes. Now at 49, I only wear makeup when I'm around my boyfriend or having lunch with a friend. I don't understand why married women wear makeup to work every day. On the days I do wear makeup, I get lots of comments about how good I look. I'm not trying to impress those people. I did wear makeup on my job interview 2.5 years ago just so I wouldn't look sick with my pale skin. Putting on mascara is just such a pain. I do carry my makeup bag with me just in case something comes up and I feel the need to wear it.

As far as clothes go, I can't remember the last time I bought anything new. Fortunately I wear the same size as my 19 year old daughter (stay in shape!) so I get clothes she doesn't want anymore or I just steal them out of her closet.

I do have an emerald ring, sapphire ring, diamond bracelete, and diamond earrings I wear every single day. I only take them off to clean them. I went through a jewelry kick a few years ago and wanted some nice stuff.

Oh, and don't forget nail polish! I do polish my toenails because my toenails are ugly. I also try to keep it on my fingernails to keep them from breaking.

As long as it's clean and fits well I'm good. When I do buy clothes, I pick styles that are not likely to go out of style. Fortunately today just about everything is in style.

GRADE NINE.?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Q. Ok so this fall im going to be a freshman in high school and i dont know what to expect so please help me.!

1. What will i need for each of these classes
-homeroom
-history
-language arts
-science
-algebra 1
-phy ed.
-spanish
-choir
-computer communications
2. What should my wardrobe be like.? I went to a catholic school where my wardrobe was very limited.!
3. Help keep my locker and backpack organized
4. How am i goinv to deal woth sports.? My dad says im good enough to make JV volleyball this fall as a freshman and my cousin tells me the same thing but he says ill be an outcast on the team.
5. Any other tips to help me survive my freshman year at high school.

If you can help me with this i will be soo happy.!

Answer
1. You'll find out what you need for each class on the first day. High school teachers are particular about how they want your stuff to be organized, so they don't expect you to have anything but pen and paper on the first day.

2. Jeans and t-shirts got me through high school. If you prefer skirts and collared shirts, by all means, wear them. If you're concerned about being stylish, get yourself a nice pair of jeans and a few cute tees for the first couple of days and observe what the other girls are wearing, then go clothes shopping to pick up a few of the more popular items you see. Popular styles you might see include light cardigans/jersey-knit shrugs over tank tops, skinny jeans (boot-cut will work fine if you're not exactly 'skinny' but still want the look), and graphic tees.

3. Locker: Get a shelf or two, a mirror/whiteboard, some magnets and a magnetic cup or pouch to store a couple of dry-erase markers in. Keep your books on the bottom of your locker and your binders/folders on the shelf above them; if you get a second shelf, keep small things like your lunch/purse if you carry one, emergency feminine supplies, chapstick, water bottle, etc on it.
Backpack: Try to carry only the materials for one or two classes at a time; use your locker to store what you don't immediately need. You might consider keeping a Homework folder that stays in your bag at all times; take whatever you need for that night's homework assignment out of the class binder and put it in the Homework folder at the end of each period. The next morning at your locker, take the completed assignments and class materials out and put them in the proper binder. I preferred using a messenger bag because I don't have to take it off to get at the contents; it saved me time when stopping at my locker between classes.

4. Try out for JV volleyball if they'll let you; your cousin is just trying to scare you. If they won't let you, or you don't make it, see if there's a freshman volleyball team and try out for that one.

5. Try not to get involved with your friends' drama. It's really more stress than it's worth. Never take sides. If somebody's mad at somebody else for something, just wait until they sort it out and don't talk about either of them behind their backs. Staying out of drama is hard to do; there's a reason there are so many TV shows about women having petty arguments. It's somehow fascinating to humans, like a train wreck. If you try to avoid the drama, though, you'll have a much easier time of it in high school.

Some tips on how to look like a serious pro photographer?

fashionable lunch bags for work on ... bag price $ 49 women tassels rivet pu leather messenger bag price $ 25
fashionable lunch bags for work image

smallbluep

What are your recommendations on fashionable clothing and accessories that will make me look the part of a serious pro photographer? Is a photo vest "in" these days? Does it help if I wear logos like National Geographic Society, Canon, or Nikon? Any ideas on how I should style my hair, should I grow a beard, have a pondering reflective look, etc..
GambitGrrl, I'm not interested in developing the portfolio. I just need to look more "pro".
Actor the suit is a great idea. Do you think it will clash with the photo vest? I think I might have to just carry the extra gear in a camera bag.
fhotoace you have heard that your first impression needs to be the best impression right?
Samurai I am not trying to fool anyone. I am trying to bring out the pro photographer that resides within. I just need a sharp looking outfit.
I like the idea of the rugged manly look of the press photographer. I can definitely see myself sporting that look and I can bring it out confidently. One more thing about that look is will women find it appealing? I was thinking of working out to build more muscle mass and getting clothes that are a size or two smaller to accentuate my musculature.

I obviously don't want to look like a bum and smell the part. Any recommendations on men care products like fragrances to round off the look. I'm talking about aftershaves and body sprays.I've seen commercials for AXE body spray. Will it draw women like bees to nectar?

Answer
There are really two basic types of pro photographers that would be seen in public and you should choose which one you want to look like before you determine your photographic style. These two styles are so different from one another that I will address them separately. It is up to you to decide which one makes you feel more professional, because when it comes right down to it, nobody but you will know which one is more comfortable for you. This is a frequently asked question in this section, so I hope you do not mind if I use one of my standard boilerplate answers as I think you will find most of the information is completely useful for your needs.

Press photographer:

First, stay awake for at least 24 hours before being seen in public. Do not shave for at least 48 hours, but do not exceed 72 hours visible growth. Carry two cameras with lenses attached. If will not matter if they both function or not, since you are only have the second body for the sake of appearance. It should at least resemble a 35 mm SLR, though, so it is large enough to hang by a neck strap. Carry a gadget bag instead of wearing a vest. Keep the strap just short enough to make it look uncomfortable, but you will actually be able to use it to stabilize your elbows during a shot in much the same way as one would use a rifle sling to stabilize the barrel the old fashioned way. Vests were helpful when film was king, but how many spare memory cards are you going to stash in a vest anyhow? You would have to put soda cans inyour pockets to make the thing look suitably full and it's just not worth it. With a gadget bag, you can get the straps tangled as everything hangs from your neck and you will look busy without even moving a muscle. You can also carry lunch and some Diet Coke or Red Bull in the gadget bag. You can buy a small insulated bag to put inside a proper photographer's gadget bag to keep them cool. These insulated bags are available anywhere, but my recommendation is that you use Yahoo! Shopping guide. Click on "Bags" and then "Insulated" and you will find a good one. Buy a LowePro or Domke camera bag, but cover up the brand with duct tape. Put at least a 200 mm zoom lens on your main camera, like a 70-200 or 18-200, although the 70-200 is bigger, so it's better. 70-300 is even better. Use logo gear, like a strap, but if you want to look like a pro, take a black permanent Sharpie and black out the brand name. Wear a baseball cap from a sporting event or a sports team, but not a camera company. Look harried and confused.

Portrait photographer:

Ask fhotoace to fine-tune this suggestion, but dress is casual but neat. Dockers pants are prefered, but L.L. Bean are acceptable. An Izod polo top is preferred, but Brooks Brothers is acceptable. My choice is a tan top, but navy is acceptable. Sand pants, but khaki is acceptable. Do not wear socks unless you think they provide some value in protecting the expensive inner soles of your expensive shoes, which should be docksider-style shoes. Clarks are preferred, but Sebago is acceptable. You will find others here who have a strong preference for the khaki L.L.Bean pants, navy Brooks Brothers polo, and Sebago shoes and I can not argue with them. Many of them will also wear socks. Once you have arrived at wearing this level of clothing, your comfort is probably as important as the actual label on the clothing. If you don't feel good, you don't look good, and if you don't look good, why would anyone hire you to take their picture? Looks are everything, so go to a fine clothing store and try on various brands and colors to see which one feels best to you. These are the clothes that you should buy, as long as you do not leave the core group of brands mentioned above. It's the same as the Nikon vs. Canon debate. You can have no more than 2 days growth of facial hair, but if you do not have that exact amount, you must shave clean before appearing in public. One camera is all you ever carry and the strap should be absent or dangling. The camera should have a battery bulge like a Nikon D2Xs or one of the Canon Mark's. A strobe is required, especially on bright sunny days. If you have more equipment than that, an assistant is required. It doesn't matter how your assistant dresses, so long as it is not quite up to your level, as YOU are supposed to be the best looking person at the shoot.

Your assistant should have your equipment loaded into a cart with large pneumatic tires. These tires are essential, because have you considered how very likely it is that you will be traversing rough terrain which would subject your equipment to excessive vibration? How are you going to control that vibration? The pneumatic tires have a built-in shake reduction capacity that will make it possible to go over the bumps without shaking your equipment. They are also good for navigating on the sand, if you are doing a beach shoot. Because of their broad contact patch, you will find that they are very well suited to equipment cart stabilization.

If this information is not adequate for your needs, please click on the pencil icon and "Add details" to let us know how we can be of further assistance.

~~~~~~
ADD'L
~~~~~~

Women are drawn to rugged men dangling cameras around their necks like wasps are drawn to gold jewelry. Telephoto lenses are a great asset, because they are sure to be impressed with the size of your lens. As far as the fragrance, don't axe me because I don't know and I won't answer a question that I don't know anything about. Usually.

Whats good christmas present for your mom?

hippielove

i dont know what to get her.

Answer
The key is to find out something she wants or has thought about getting but doesn't want to spend the money or something... I don't know how old you are so if you're older I would go out to lunch near a shopping center and you can have her look through the windows. If she likes to cook maybe special pots or knives. If she's more fashionable I would look for bags, purses. Sephora gift cards never go wrong. Sephora also has perfume samples for 50 dollars where she gets a little test of a bunch of different perfumes and she can pick her favorite and the kit comes with a certificate which says she can get a normal size of her choice from that.

How long does an insulated bag work for?

kids lunch bags that keep food cold on thermos food jar perfect for lunch bags or picnics this durable food ...
kids lunch bags that keep food cold image

~ <3 ~

I'm going to be at college for 12hrs, plus another 2hrs driving time.

If I were to keep some food in an insulated bag, APPROXIMATELY (to your best knowledge) how many hours max would it stay fresh for if:

-the food was reallly hot or frozen?
-it was just sorta cold?

Thanks.

Answer
I found this for you. Hope it helps!

Lunch Bags & Boxes
The first thing you will need is a container in which to pack the lunch. It doesn't need to cost a lot of money. For adults a small cooler makes a great lunch box. Fred uses a medium sized cooler. He is usually gone for 24 to 48 hours, so he needs alot of food to keep him going. For children and teenagers, you can usually find inexpensive lunch boxes and insulated lunch bags at yard sales and thrift stores.

Small children often prefer a plastic lunch box with cartoon characters on the side. I suggest you buy these as cheaply as possible. They only last for a year or two before the children drop them or the latch breaks. At $6 to $10 a piece, buying brand new boxes has never been a good investment for me. I have purchased them new when I desperately needed the thermoses that came with them. After the plastic lunch box broke, I purchased replacements from my local Goodwill. I continue to use the same thermos year after year.

If the art work on an older lunch box is shabby, you can easily replace it. Use rubber cement to glue down a new picture (cut to size) and then cover the picture with clear contact paper. I've done this, and it lasted almost 2 years, until the lunch box cracked and became unusable. Amy D. describes the process in detail in the first book of The Tightwad Gazette.

For older children insulated lunch bags work best. They don't have the juvenile connotations of plastic boxes with matching thermoses, so older kids usually don't object to carrying them. I like them because they don't break when they get drop-kicked across the livingroom by a budding football player. Since they have soft sides, it is easier to fit more food and odd-shaped containers in them too. They usually have zipper closing and shoulder straps for carrying them. I buy the largest ones I can find because I find them easier to fill. Many modern insulated bags have several extra zipper pockets and sections on the outside to carry little extras like napkins, spoons and salt or pepper packets. My boys like these but they aren't really necessary. Purchased brand-new, insulated lunch bags cost between $5 and $15. If you wait until back-to-school-sales you may find them cheaper. Over the summer they can often be found at yard sales. Insulated lunch bags usually do not come with their own thermos, so you will have to use some you already have or buy them separately.

What are different ideas for packing lunches for my daughter?

Kylee Brui

My daughter just started kindergarten, and has started bring lunches to school. I never brought lunches to school, so I don't have any knowledge on different ideas.
I don't want to send her with just sandwiches, chips, carrots, ect everyday.. Any tips/ideas for different food that will stay good in her lunch bag until they eat? Thanks!

Answer
My kids take a variety of things. Sandwiches (but no peanut butter or any type of nut spread), a fun snack like cookies or chips, and a healthy snack like raisins or carrot sticks. I've also found that you can freeze yogurt or Go-gurt tubes, and pack them frozen. By lunch time, they are melted or semi-melted and still cold for the kids to eat. My daughters also like the mini cups of applesauce, single serve cups of pudding or even bags of dry cereal. A trick I use to keep things cold is to freeze the juice box and pack it frozen. Like the yogurt, it defrosts in the bag, but keeps the rest of the lunch cold. By lunch time, it's perfect to drink. I pack in an insulated, reusable lunch bag.

For sandwiches, the kids like jelly, lunch meats with cheese, grilled cheese served cold, the typical normal foods.

How can I become a different person (Don't lecture me on religion)?

lunch bags for teenage girls on Rock Creek Park Horse Center at George Washington Memorial Parkway
lunch bags for teenage girls image

Tad

I'm 16 and I've never spent more than a year at any one school. As a result, I almost never had any friends. I was once out going, but after an incident where I ended up reciting the wrong poem in front of my 2nd grade class, I became shy. After second grade, I didn't try to make friends when I moved to different schools. I cared about my image though, I tried to be kind and show no emotion. I bottled up what I felt so that people wouldn't judge me harshly. I wasn't social, I made no friends. I had no friends. I was starved for some form of friendship, or affection, so I became deeply religious. I used religion to give me the thing I lacked, a friend.

I'm now at school wherein I am in all six of my classes with the same nine people (more or less). I was deeply religious when I came to the school. Though I didn't want to originally, I made two friends. My friends were careful around me. They were careful not to cuss or talk about the inappropriate topics that most teenage boys are constantly thinking about (one of my friends is a girl and the other is a boy).

They knew I didn't like it when people cussed or talked about the inappropriate things. My friend that is a girl once told her friend to stop talking about the things and cussing because she didn't "want to corrupt [my] innocence". My friend that is a boy told his friend once to stop cussing saying "we have a Tad here." Although I don't like cussing or inappropriate things, I didn't like that my friends did this.

Eventually, both of my friends became distant. I found that my friends stopped talking to me in classes. I had always sat alone at lunch and in our school's dismissal area, but being ignored in class, the one place they talked to me was too much for me. I felt that I lost them both. What was worse is I had lost them to each other (they didn't start dating, they both were seeing other people, but they merely became closer friends).

Both of my friends insulted religions in my English class one day. I took offense and tried to stop being friends with them. The boy told me "I don't hate you, I just hate everything you believe in." I was hurt badly by this and began to look at my religion more.I eventually left my religion due to many things I disagreed with in the doctrine. When I didn't have friends, I never questioned the doctrine because I didn't want to lose my source of comfort. Now that I had friends, I no longer needed the religion. I left my church (the Mormon Church and no it is not a cult {though it is wrong}). I still vowed to live by the church's moral code (no swearing, no talking about inappropriate things, no drinking alcoholic beverages, no drinking coffee, and no drinking tea {I know this tea one doesn't make sense now that I'm not part of the church}).

After I left, I was still unhappy they insulted my beliefs. I didn't know how to handle friends so I gave them the silent treatment. The boy apologized quickly and instantly forgave him. The girl refused to apologize, she told me I had to apologize for ignoring her. I did. I baked them both apology cookies and brought bags of apology chocolate.

After the almost official loss of our friendship, things went back to normal. My friends continued to ignore me, and I pretended I liked being alone. The truth was that I didn't want to force my friends to do anything. I didn't to force them to accept me at lunch or in the dismissal area. They both ignored me and after five months, I tried again to end my friendships. I was going to end them both on the same day, but the girl broke up with her boyfriend that day, so I only tried to end my friendship with the boy.

The girl became distant, I think that friendship is gone.

He didn't allow me to end my friendship with him. He was kind about it. He dragged (not literally) his girlfriend away from their normal lunch table to sit with me one day. The day after, he just had me move to his normal lunch table. He told me to sit there every day saying that I was part of that social group now.

Feeling like I belonged somewhere made that the happiest day of my life (that was last Tuesday). I was talking to him earlier today. He was talking about how he still has feelings for this other girl and he might have to choose between the girl (who he asked out before, but she refused saying she doesn't want to be committed to anyone) and his girlfriend. He said he can be himself around the other girl, but not his girlfriend. Hearing him say that made me remember how he tried to be calm, not cuss, and not talk about inappropriate stuff around me. I felt guilty.

I want to change myself. I want to be louder, rowdier, and have my friend like me more. My English teacher told me eight days ago that she thinks of me as the model student. I want to change that so my friend can feel like he can be himself around me.
Most of the answers I'm getting are telling me to go back to Mormonism. I'm not going back. My friends aren't the reason I left, they weren't even the final straw. The final straw was a lesson from my former church teacher about how God is literally bound to do something if you follow certain rules. I believe God is almighty and is not bound by anything. I'm not going back to mormonism, I was miserable there.
@Elder I don't believe you were answering the question I asked.
@Sienna thanks! tomorrow, I begin anew. I tried to once become someone different and I failed. If I really put my mind to something, I can do it, though I regret the two times I did...

Answer
Wow what a novel!
i love how you posted this question twice! After all those religious comments.
Well you cant just decide one day I'm going to change yourself, and be changed the next morning. You are probably still going to be shy for a long time maybe forever. You seem like a good nice person, its just you are trying to fit various molds that dont go together. All religious and "good" then a "fun" person at the same time. Usually goody goodies arent that fun though. My only advice is to just be yourself and also try and get used to cursing and inapproprite topics. They will never go away and eventually you will have to talk about these inapproprite topics. Just try and embrace them :D

What are some easy and affordable snacks for a kids lunch?

lunch bags for nutrition breaks image
Q. when in the car or taking a break from shopping what are some good foods for kids that can be carried in a purse or bag? nothing too heavy but enough to give them a little boost. there won't be a cooler, microwave or refrigerator available.
kids are 8 and 10

Answer
My daughters used to like things like string cheese, granola bars, cheese and crackers. Apples, oranges, tangerines, grapes, pears, carrot sticks. Pretzels, popcorn, they are low fat and high in fiber just get the low salt kind. These are the snacks that my kids liked and still do even though they aren't so young any more. They are 34.30 and 16 and they still snack on these items. IF you teach them good nutrition now they will most likely stick with it when they are older.

What is a good work-out plan to lose thirty to forty pounds in five months?

JUSTYNA

I weigh 160 lbs, 5'4. I've gained a lot of weight lately, and I want to burn the fat and tone my body in time for prom and the summer. Can somebody offer me a day-by-day workout plan that will help me reach this goal?

Answer
Nutrition is key in losing weight. I would aim for about 1300-1400 calories a day, strength training 2x a week, cardio 2x a week, 40+ minutes a day.

I am in the process of losing weight, I have lost 30 lbs in the last 3 1/2 months, here is a sample of my diet.
7:30 Breakfast: 1 1/2 plain oatmeal with 1 tsp maple syrup, 1 tsp. peanut butter, fruit, 8 oz skim milk (16 oz water)
10:00 Snack: sugar snap peas, carrots and almonds (16 oz water)
12:30 Lunch: chicken (cook a whole chicken ever Sunday and make strips for salads and shred some for sandwiches and stuff) sandwich with avocado instead of mayo, spinach and shredded cheese (this way I get the cheese I need, but you don't eat as much as if it were a slice), an orange, 2 celery sticks (20 oz water)
4:00 Snack: (kids are home) peanut butter on 1 slice whole wheat toast with bananas and honey, carrots, (3 parts) plain yogurt (1 part) vanilla yogurt with berries (usually frozen $$) (16 oz water)
7:00 Dinner: dark greens salad (usually a mix of romaine and spinach b/c they seem to be the cheapest) with chicken, Craisins, thinly slices apples, sliced almonds, fresh Parmesan cheese, and a couple croutons, 8 oz milk

I eat all my food on the smaller plates and I put away food before we sit at the table. I keep a party tray of vegetables cut up and in the fridge always. This is great for when you really wanting a snack but just want to reach for a bag of chips(which are not allowed in my house) because you don't want to prepare a snack. This is also great for kids or for when you decide to have a movie night or game night, your snacks are already prepared. Eat mostly whole wheat. Reduce sugars as much as you can.

Also try sparkpeople.com (they are a free website that you can input your weight, nutrition and activities in and it will give you a diet plan. It has been really helpful in my weight loss.
Here is an answer I wrote earlier today, it is not exactly tailored to your question, but there are a lot of tips in there...

You would benefit by eating a larger breakfast, medium lunch, and a smaller dinner. This way you will have the bulk of your calories in the morning and will be able to burn off most of those calories during the day. If you are just reducing calories, you are not really benefiting your body much. Exercise will increase your metabolism which will allow you to burn off calories at a faster pace.

Try eating foods that your body has to work at to digest. Carrots, celery, dark green lettuce, all of these foods (and many more) take about the same amount of calories (energy) to chew and break down the food particles, so by the time they pass through your body you have burned more calories than you ate.

Try drinking a water instead, or if you can't resist a small. The aspartame in the diet foods are not good for you and are not helpful in weight loss. It is very important to drink plenty of water. Without consistent and adequate water intake, your body thinks it is not going to have enough water for your body to function properly so it stores it. By drinking 50+ oz of water a day, in about two weeks, you will lose weight because your body will release the stored water that is has been saving (thinking that it's going to run out).

Also, your bones are growing still, milk and other foods rich in calcium and vitamin D are very important. If your bones are not getting enough calcium, they are not going to be as strong (more hollow, less dense) therefore, you will be more susceptible to breaking them, especially as you age!

Good luck to you, I hope this all helps!

How long can you reuse a food container before bacteria or mold begins to grow?

insulated lunch bag small on BUILT NY lunch bag - dog - Biome Eco Stores
insulated lunch bag small image
Q. Is it harmful and could it cause tiredness and a stuffy head? The container typically has spinach and thousand island dressing in it and is reused for a couple or so days. It is stored in a small insulated lunch bag with an ice pack. If it is unhealthy, why? Is it okay to reuse a container such as one with a tomato and after a few days cut a new tomato and store it in the same container without washing it? The container has been refridgerated.

Answer
sorry but ewww. Why wouldn't you wash it after using it each time? Even just rinsing it in warm water.
I mean every time you take it out and it's not refrigirated it goes bad a bit and gets on the fresh food. Besides, food goes bad in a fridge eventually no matter what.

If I leave yogurt in my locker or my backpack for 3 hours will it go bad?

HockeyGirl

I normally put my food in an insulated lunch bag and leave it in my locker.. but I am afraid that if I wait after 3-4 hours it will go bad. I am very iffy on leaving dairy out.

Answer
It shouldn't go bad but it certainly may become soft and mushy. Put a small, closed container of frozen water in your lunch bag to keep the yogurt fresh.

How long does an insulated bag work for?

What is the best way to prepare yourself for a long camping trip?

cheap lunch bags for women on Beach bag|Beach bag manufacturer, wholesale 070115SB1
cheap lunch bags for women image

No Name

Me and a few friends are planning on taking a year long camp trip in a few years and I was wondering, what would be the best way to prepare, we plan to most likely go to the gym and get stronger and probably practice camping for shorter amounts of time in the summer. Is there anything else that we should do?
Please don't tell me it's a bad Idea, I have almost everything else completely planned besides the place

Answer
You are not asking about camping. You are asking about illegal homelessness, unless you own the land where you are planning to live for a year.

In order to obtain a master's degree, I camped in developed campsites for two summers in a van down by the river. Due to all of my papers and an electric-powered non-stick pan for meals, I was glad to have electricity provided in camp. Fees were cheap, but transportation and loss of time were costs. I also paid for one restaurant meal each day due to time constraints, usually a Chinese lunch for economy and healthy components in the meal. Your willingness to move camp weekly is very responsible and will allow you to leave-no-trace. Therefore, you will not be in conflict with law enforcement as long as you are following the local regulations for dispersed camping. In my circumstances, I was not near any lands where dispersed camping was allowed. I figured that my daily living costs were $20 per day.

Today, I could have adequate battery storage to run a laptop computer between charging at school. I would use propane-butane canisters for cooking now. During my education, internet was not a source of research materials. I slept comfortably in a +15 degree sleeping bag, especially because the van retained some heat. I did shower and shave in the university gym early each morning without ever being challenged. During the past decade I have never applied any of my university education from three degrees, five certifications, and spent two decades being either underemployed or moving every few years for career changes. Of course, I answer questions, write articles and books, but do not recover the costs of outdoor gear or transportation from my work.

I have known a few homeless men. One froze to death in winter on a below-zero night where alcohol was involved. Another beat a fellow homeless man to death at his campsite and is serving a sentence for murder. A woman was killed by her homeless man companion associated with a knife-stabbing during an alcoholic binge in their campsite. Several young men have frozen to death in snowdrifts near me due to being disoriented on their way homes from bars. No one ever had a conflict with a wild animal, except one man stored canned goods in his tent that were eaten by a black bear when he was away from his dispersed camp near town. I attribute that problem as stupidity of the homeless man and proximity to a community that trains bears to eat refuse. I have never had any encounter with a bear in my remote wilderness dispersed camps. Human communities educate bears badly and help create alienated homeless men. Military veterans, alcoholics, and mentally-ill men are typically homeless and estranged from "civilization." Perhaps, you will be able to write a balanced thesis on homelessness in American after you get a taste of it.

What you need you know before going on a cruise?

S

I'm going on my first cruise this summer to the Bahamas in July. And I just wanted to know first hand tips from experienced cruise travelers.

Answer
I have been on about 20 cruises with 4 different cruise lines so I guess I am somewhat experienced ...... here's some things to help understand your cruise.

The price of your cruise includes your cabin, all meals (including breakfast, lunch dinner, snacks and free room service)(you do pay to eat in the specialty restaurants), all shows and entertainment, and free use of all facilities on ship. The things that you will have to pay for are:

GRATUITIES: They will amount to about $10 per person in your cabin per day; about $70 each for a 7 day cruise. When you check in at the pier they will set up an on-board charge account for you to cover any and everything you may buy on ship. They will issue you a "cruise card" which will also serve as your room key and pass to get on and off the ship.

ALCOHOLIC DRINKS AND SOFT DRINKS: Coffee, tea, milk, juice, and lemonade and punch will be provided free but you must pay for soft drinks and alcoholic beverages and they will add a 15% gratuity to each drink and soft drink order.
- You can save a couple dollars on drinks if you order them in a plain glass rather than the fancy souvenir ones that add about $2. to the cost of drinks.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Cruise lines will take plenty of photographs of you all over the ship, in the dining room, and as you exit the ship in ports. These will cost a lot, like $15 to $20 for most.
- Instead of buying photos ask other passengers to take photos of you around the ship and at port stops.

TOURS/EXCURSIONS: You are not required to book any tours and can get off and on in the ports as much as you want. But the cruise line will offer a lot of tours and these are expensive.
- When you get to the Bahamas you can many times get tours much cheaper than on ship from tour operators who will be at/on the pier.

Always pack your passport and cruise documents in your carry on bag ONLY. If you plan to get into the pools or hot tub as soon as you get on ship (they will be open), bring those clothes in your carry on bag; you other luggage may not get to your cabin until much later in the afternoon.

The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM, so take:
-swim wear (at least 2),
-shorts, tank tops and "T's"
-sandals,
-beach shoes,
-your snorkel equipment if you have it,
-sun glasses and sun screen,
-lotions,
-a cap or big hat for the sun,
-a book if you are a reader,
-your music player,
-sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym,
-good walking shoes,
-your camera, and
-other personal toiletries including tooth paste, mouth wash or lotions.

Your cabin will have towels and soap provided, including pool and beach towels, and a hair dryer. It will also have a generic hair shampoo so you do not need to bring that unless you like a specific brand.

After 6:00 PM they request that you wear "sports or resort casual" attire. That's attire that you would expect a person to wear in a business office, (like a bank employee), shirt with a collar, slacks, skirt, blouse, etc. You can still wear shorts and swim wear in the pools and spas but not in public areas like dining rooms and restaurants, show rooms, bars, casino, etc. Don't over pack , take clothes that you can mix and match tops and bottoms and plan to wear each piece twice. You will likely be in shorts and/or swim wear most of every day so evening clothes don't usually get much wear.

Your cruise will have a formal night or two when you can wear your best stuff and get pictures taken, and maybe meet the shipâs Captain. The formal nights are REQUESTED not required attire. You will not be denied entry to the main dining room if you decide not to dress up, as long as you are at least sports casual. But most people do dress up. A gown or party dress for women and a suit or tux for men. But you can really do whatever you want.

- Its best to pack using soft-sided luggage because with space limited in your cabin it fits under the beds better if its not hard sided luggage.

- Pack using the vacuum clothing bags (about $20 for 3 at Target) so that you can get more in your bag AND so that if the TSA at the airport opens your bag they can see what's inside without rummaging through your things.

-Take a small carry-on bag for the last night of the cruise. On the last evening you will be required to put your luggage outside your cabin by about 2:00 AM so that they can start taking it down to the lower deck for offloading the next morning. So you will need a small bag for your toiletries and your clothes that you sleep in.

- If you are taking your cell phone, MP3 player or other item that needs to be plugged in take an extension cord as the plugs in the cabin are generally not in the best places and there are usually only one or two.

- Take a small bottle of hand sanitizer and/or hand-wipes. There are generally sanitizer dispensers at the entrances of restaurants, the buffets and dining room, but some times the are not there or not working. The sanitizer helps prevent the spread of the Norwalk Virus that sometimes occur on cruise ships.

- Take a can of air freshener for your cabin bathroom. The bathrooms do not have exhaust fans.

- Take a few zip lock bags of various sizes; they always come in handy.

- Take some one and five dollar bills for tipping and also they will come in handy when/if you go to the straw market in the Bahamas.

- Don't eat a big breakfast, or breakfast at all, the morning of your cruise because as soon as you get on ship lunch will be ready and they will be stuffing food in you the whole cruise.

The best thing is know what your parents likes are and are into say like golf, yoga, play poker or blackjack, like reading fiction and nonfiction spy books, gardening, what are they fans of and so on. Since you didn't say or know, how about any of these things on the list.

How do you plan a bridal shower?

encourager

My sister is getting married in October what are fun creative affordable ways to plan a bridal shower and to make it extra special?

Answer
Have it at your home if you have enough room. If your sister belongs to a church check with them and see if you could hold it in their basement or wherever they have gathering for meals etc... most of the time they will let you do it and it shouldn't cost you a thing. Make sure that you send out invitations in advance. To cut down on cost make your own on post card paper and go to the post office to mail them. The postage fee is 24 or 25 cents.

Buy Index cards and have each person at the shower share some marital advice for a long and lasting marriage. Do a saying's game
Sentences:
Type these up on a sheet of paper and make lines for them to write their answers. The answers to these questions follow.

A woman's work ...
A happy house...
Behind every great man...
A woman's place...
When the going gets tough...
A stitch in time...
My house is...
The path of true love...
Variety is...
Every man's home...
True love...
Marriages are...
A watched pot...
If the shoe fits...
A penny saved...
Home is...
Too many cooks...

Answers:

is never done
is full of laughter
is a successful woman
is in the home.
the tough get going
saves nine
your house
never runs smooth
the spice of life
is his castle
conquers all
made in heaven
never boils
wear it
is a penny earned
where the heart is
spoil the broth

Have the Bride to be fill out an info sheet on herself (favorite food, restaurant, pet, place she wants to live ..etc.) she should have about 20 things. For example: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? What is your favorite place to eat lunch? Give the same questions to each guest and have them fill out what THEY think her answers would be. -----Got the idea?

Buy little gifts at your local dollar store such as lotions, kitchen towels and candle's etc. Get little gift bags or put them in a basket for who wins the prizes.

HARD riddles to solve. Who can do it?

(Not my riddles. Taken from a book.)
A lady working the border of Canada and the Uninted staes, got a call stating a potential terrorist might have gotten through, during her work hours. She only inspected three people that day as the crossed the border. Some coming into Canada, some going out. He was said to be caucasion and male. She thuroghly inspected these three "crossers". One pale man was crossing, and she saw a ski pole in the back. He told her he had been hiking in new Hampshire. She let him go. Another car cam with a man and woman, and the man had a moustache and dirty hands. (Which is what the suspect looked like.) They claimed to have been changing their tires, because they had a flat. She saw a tire in the car, and let them go. The last man who cam was sweating profusely. He had clean delicate hands, and a slight build. He was going through this way to get on a free way, alowwing him to get to detroit faster. One of these travelers lied. Who was it?
Torrey was a master art theif. She would steal paintings, then re-sell them. This time, she was going after Picasso. She had been a cleaning lady for the Montag's for months. She cut the screen to the bathroom window, confident it wouldn't be noticed until inversigators did a detailed search. She re-wired the window's security. She slid the painting on a sling, to a flower bed below, on her lunch break.
She made sure to leave her fingerprints on the dorrknobs (she was the cleaning lady after all) but not sink or toilet, because she used gloves. She took a slightly worn man's Nike sneaker
from her bag to make footprints, in hopes of throwing investigators off. She later dropped of the painting, and threw away the sneaker miles away. Even with her careful planning. She made a mistake, that could make her a prime suspect. What was it? Star if you find difficult or interesting please :)

Answer

She cut the screen out ot the womens restroom

This is a really obvious joke!?

So there was a plane that was flying from Canada to America and the plane crashed on the border. Where do they bury the survivors?

Also i have another joke.

So there was three construction workers, a mexican, white guy, and a polish guy. The mexican opens his lunch and he has a burrito, and he says 'man, if i get another one of these again, i am just going to jump off this building!' and the white guy opens his lunch and he gets a hamburger and he says 'man, if i get another one of these, i am just going to jump off this building!' and the polish guy opens his lunch and he gets a pb&j and he says 'man, if i get another one of these, i am just going to jump off this building' the next day the mexican gets a burrito, so he jumps, the white guy gets a hamburger, and he jumps, and the polish guy gets a pb&j, and he jumps. at the polish guys funeral, the white and the mexican guys' wifes came to see the polish guys wife. the white guys wife said 'why arent you crying?' and she said 'because, he packed his own lunch!'
if anyone has any jokes, i would love to hear them plz!!!

A woman goes into a store to buy a fishing rod and reel for her grandson's birthday. She doesn't know which one to get, so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter.

The salesman is standing there, wearing dark glasses. She says, Excuse me. Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?' He says, 'Madam, I'm completely blind; but, if you'll drop it on the counter, I can tell you everything you need to know about it from the sound it makes.' She doesn't believe him but drops it on the counter anyway. He says, 'That's a two metre Shakespeare graphite rod with a Zebco 404 reel and 5-kg test line. It's a good all around combination, and it's on sale this Week for $44.' She says, 'It's amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I'll take it!'

As she opens her purse, her credit card drops on the floor. 'Oh, That sounds like a Visa card, says the salesman. As the lady bends down to pick up the card, she accidentally farts. At first she is really embarrassed but then realizes there is no way the blind salesman could tell it was she who had farted.

The salesman rings up the sale and says, 'That'll be $58.50 please.' The woman is totally confused by this and asks, 'Didn't You tell me it was on sale for $44? How did you get to $58.50?'

'The Duck Caller is $11 and the Fish Bait is $3.50.'

A little old lady was walking down the street dragging two large plastic garbage bags behind her. One of the bags rips and every once in a while a $20 bill falls out onto the sidewalk.

Noticing this, a policeman stops her, and says, "Ma'am, there are $20 bills falling out of your bag."

"Oh, really? Darn!" said the little old lady. "I'd better go back, and see if I can find them. Thanks for telling me."

"Well, now, not so fast," says the cop. "How did you get all that money? "You didn't steal it, did you?"

"Oh, no", said the little old lady. "You see, my back yard is right next to the football stadium parking lot. On game days, a lot of fans come and pee through the fence into my flower garden. So, I stand behind the fence with my hedge clippers. Each time some guy sticks his thing through the fence, I say, '$20 or off it comes'.

"Well, that seems only fair" laughs the cop. "OK. Good luck! Oh, by the way, what's in the other bag?"

"Well, you know, not everybody pays".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a man who worked all of his life and had saved his money and was a real miser when it came to his money. He loved money more than just about anything.

Just before he died, he said to his wife. "Now listen. When I die, I want you to take all my money and put it in the casket with me. Because I want to take my money to the afterlife with me." And so he got his wife to promise him with all of her heart that when he died, she would put all of the money in the casket with him.

Well one day he died. He was stretched out in the casket, the wife was sitting there in black, and her friend was sitting next to her. When they finished the ceremony, just before the undertakers got ready to close the casket, the wife said, "Wait just a minute!" She had a box with her, she came over with the box and put it in the casket. Then the undertakers locked the casket down, and they rolled it away.

So her friend said, "Girl, I know you weren`t fool enough to put all that money in there with that man." She said, "Listen, I`m a Christian, I can`t lie. I promised him that I was gonna put that money in that casket with him."

"You mean to tell me you put that money in the casket with the man?"

"I sure did," said the wife. "I wrote him a check."

What is an easy finger food to send with my 14 month old for lunch?

lunch bag for daycare on Lunch BAG Insulated DAY Care Preschool Zebra Easy Clean Brand NEW ...
lunch bag for daycare image

what the h

I need ideas for something that is not messy, and that is not easy to choke on. And that doesn't require refrigeration, since they don't have a fridge for lunches at daycare. Thanks
They have a fridge for other things, just not one for lunches, since there are over 100 kids at this center.

Answer
first of all-i want to say ignore all the negative feedback you're getting about where you take your child or the fact that you take your child to daycare. most moms nowdays cannot afford to stay home and raise their children-they work. i'm a single mom of 3 girls-all 3 are in private school. my oldest are in 2nd grade and kindergarten, my youngest in preschool. i have to pack lunch for all 3 b/c the montessori they attend also has several students and not enough room to store refridgerated stuff....

get a small lunchbag and a few little ice packs to put in it-this will help keep things cold.

for a 14 month old you can try:
-peanut butter and jelly or lunch meat and cheese sandwiches-cut them into shapes with cookie cutters (my girls love this)
-goldfish crackers
-cucumber sticks (these will be easy for her little fingers to grasp and they are easy to chew)
-banana slices
-cooked pasta in fun shapes like bowties (you can melt a small amount of butter over these and then chill them in your fridge before packing them in her lunch-this will add flavor to them, put them in a ziplock baggie when you pack them for lunch)
-scrambled eggs
-diced chicken with green beans cut into bite sized pieces
juice boxes or small milk containers

all of this can be eaten cold and will keep fine as long as you have the ice packs in the lunch bag to keep it cold....

Fulltime moms who breastfeed: How much of a milk supply did you have when returning from maternity leave?

xoxo - knm

Currently, I have about a 3 day supply (enough milk for three 8 hour days). And how much milk did you pump during your work shift? And was this only on your lunch break, or did you get time to go and pump once before and after lunch as well?
I meant to put fulltime working moms, sorry.

Answer
I had about the same as you, maybe just a little more. I keep two frozen packets in the freezer at daycare in case they ever have a mishap with a bottle. I pump anywhere from 1 to 3 times daily, depending on when I last fed the baby, when I have meetings, etc. We have a storage room with a lock that doubles as a mother's room. I have been back to work for about 6 weeks and have been able to breastfeed 100%. It is not hard as long as your boss is on board. With my 1st, my boss was irritated that I would leave to go pump, and I was always tense and couldn't get good letdown. Pack an I-pod and a picture of your baby in your pump bag. This will help you relax and make letdown easier. It only takes about 20-25 minutes total each time I need to pump, including walking down there, getting the key, set-up and clean-up.
