THEY LOOK LIKE THIS
(-------------------)
(------------------------ )
(-------------------------)
(-------------------------)
(-------------------------)
EXEPT THEY ARE ALOT ROUNDER AND THEY KINDA LOOK LIKE PURSES! PLEASE HELP!

Answer
It might be these - they have lots of cool bags made of neoprene (wetsuit material) that have thermal insulating properties. You mainly see them as wine carriers, but they make a whole range of products.

Your other thought might be bento boxes, which are little compartmentalized tupperware style containers in which you can place all kinds of different foods and they won't get all mixed up. You can have some salad, a sandwich, a sushi roll and some some kind of noodle all in one container and they won't mix. Some even come with a thermos container for hot items like soup or rice. Do a search for bento box, and you will get the idea.

What is a good menu to pack lunches?

lunch bag buy online on Clothes And More Jesus Teaches Lesson 2 Lesson At A Glance
lunch bag buy online image

madetolove

I am at wits end for healthy lunches to pack. My office complex has fast food everywhere and it's making me broke and unhealthy. We have microwaves and fridges at work. Help?

Answer
Great question.
Buy in bulk, cook in bulk, and package individually to heat at work.
Purchase lean proteins on sale! (My favorite is pork steaks.. they broil beautifully, and they are huge... one piece can be cut in thirds for an individual serving! One week it may be pork... the next chicken, then fish, then turkey. Purchase the family packs for more savings! And, the times you don't want to cook... look for the Lean Cuisines on sale... they truly are tasty. You can print coupons online to use with the store sale price to save even more! Allowing you to purchase them for around $$2.00!
Back to the prep work! Take the "meat" and marinade it or use a rub... you can purchase different flavors like Italian, lemon pepper, BBQ, you get the point. After you've finished seasoning the entire pack... place the seasoned "meat" on a cookie sheet and broil it in the oven! After they have cooled place them in individual small freezer bags and toss them in the freezer. If they're
over sized, divide them to smaller portions. Each day on the way to work take one out of the freezer and put it in your lunch bag, when you arrive at work, put in in the fridge, so it can thaw... then microwave it. Also, select veggies that you like... and again, what it on sale, prepare them... put them in individual serving containers... and take one to work with your "meat entree" and all you will need to add is a whole grain roll, and a piece of fruit! Yummy... to eat! And the money you save will be worth the prep work for a great lunch at work.

where can I buy big brown paper bags?

marieclair

Anybody know where I can get big brown paper bags, like the kind you get at the grocery store or when buying two six-packs at a liquor store?
I saw them online but only in bulk and for more than I want to spend, and I would prefer to go buy them in person. Walmart only has the small ones, the lunch bags, but I need something a bit bigger.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated - but suggesting to wangle some out of my grocer's does not count! ;)

Answer
The ones you are looking for are SOS (side opening satchel) Block Bottom Paper Bags!
Block Bottom Paper Bags have always traditionally been used in grocery stores to hold goods. They come in a variety of sizes and are made from brown kraft paper. These side gusseted bags are measured as the face width x width of the gusset x height.

Hope that helps.

What are some ideas for lunch to send with my fiancé to work?

lunch bags for work men on Yellow Messenger Bags | Canvas Messenger Bag - CafePress
lunch bags for work men image

Molly

I dont necessarily want recipes just ideas. I was trying to make a list of foods I could send with him to work so he would never have to have the same lunch in a single week. I would prefer food that don't have to be cooked or reheated, ones that are good cold.

So far I have got sandwiches, turkey wraps, sushi rolls, potato salad, pasta salad, fruits and veggies, and tuna salad with crackers.

Answer
BBQ PORK SANDWHICH WITH CORN BREAD
SPRING ROLLS! He sounds adventurous, Get some rice paper, rice noodles, cilantro, shrimp/tofu bean sprouts, whatever he likes. Send with a peanut sauce (super easy to make, or just buy) and fortune cookie.
BLT's: Men love bacon. Fry up all the bacon, then use the leftover in your potato salad, other sandwiches, or even just to eat plain as a side. You can toast the bread ahead of time, or don't toast.
CHIPS AND SALSA OR GAUC
FISH TACOS: Soft or hard shell (send in separate baggy), Fish, Fruit salsa, jalepeno coleslaw etc. all cold ingredients.
BAGELS: And Creamcheese or cold breakfast bagel sandwhiches are good.
QUESADILLAS: You can eat these cold, with some sour cream, yum.
TACO IN A BAG: Send 2 single serving bag of nacho cheese dorito chips and container of hamburger meat (cold) and other ingredients (onion, tomato, lettuce, whatever) and dump all ingredients into nacho bag.
COLD ITALIAN PASTA SALAD: Italian dressing over noodles and fav veggies and meat: Broccoli, pepperoni, cheese, olives, artichokes, etc.
TUNA SALAD WITH CRUSHED UP POTATO CHIPS
PIZZA is good cold with milk or soda. WRAP THE CAN IN ALUMINUM FOIL TO KEEP COLDER LONGER.
>>Buy a sealed jar of banana peppers and jalepeno peppers. These rock on peperoni/salami subs or chicken sandwhiches and keep nicely. Send with BBQ Chips.

Homemade sweet iced-tea in a thermos. So good in the summer.

Snacks: slices of fav cheeses and salamis, herring and crackers, trail mix (dark choc, nuts, raisins), popcorn is a perfect room temp snack, pretzels, packages of Starkist smoked salmon with bagel chips, greek yogurt, pudding.

Hopefully I could give some new ideas! Good luck!

-IDK why i'm getting thumbs down - these are all good eaten cold.

Do girls care what bag a man brings along to a date/lunch?

montauk

I figure girls care about fashion, so want their men to care about their clothes, girls care about shoes and like good shoes on men. But I've never heard anyone say anything about bags or backpacks or briefcases. If a guy brings along an old backpack to lunch compared to a designer bag, does it make a difference, in the same way clothes or shoes or haircut etc... does?

Answer
Are you going on a lunch date? Like a picnic or something?

You must know alot of very shallow girls. Poor you.

No, it shouldn't matter. Who the hell cares. As long as you don't have roaches crawling out of it.

And, if it's appropriate...bring some flowers. It disguises the old backpack, I swear.

What would be a good party favor to give at a ladies luncheon?

ladies lunch bags on ... LEATHER Clutch bag coin purse, evening bags, handbag Cell phone key bag
ladies lunch bags image

Sharon Cha

I am having the ladies in the neighborhood over for lunch and would like to include a small party favor. There is no theme involved but I am serving asian food. On the invitation, it said "Lunching with the ladies". I thought about fortune cookies but want to know if anyone has any other clever ideas. Thanks!

Answer
Go to your local thrift store and pick up as many tea cups as you will have guests. Put a nice tea bag and the fortune cookie in the tea cup and wrap in cellophane. Tie it off with a pretty ribbon and slide a pair of chopsticks through the knot

Why do you think they inforce the lunch line rule so hard?

Aloha

Well in my school the lunch lines are long and slow.So some kids like to cut.But when the lunch ladies see them they get very upset.Like i was paying for my food and my friend came up to me and was like can you buy me a juice and the lunch lady saw him and was no you need to get in line like everybody else so my friend was forced to wait 10 minutes in line for his juice.

Answer
I'll try and make a drawing of it;

============================================

That's the line and all the '='s are people.
Little Jimmy, %, decided to push into the line.

==========================%=================

But then little Jimmy's friend, Bob ($), decided to push into the line as well.

==========================%$================

By the time that they reach the line, a lot of other people had pushed in so it looked like this.

===%====$=====@====#====$====&====*=====(===&==

Okay, I have too much spare time. I think it's just so that it's fair for everyone else. Everyone else has to wait in the line and I know sometimes it is painfully slow but it infuriates me when MORE THAN 2 people cut in the line. Sometimes it's about 7 people who just push theirselves in the line and shove their bags in my faces, being inconsiderate.

What ways do you show your spouse you love them?

Jessica

Money is tight right now as we have baby now, and I'm staying at home to raise our son. I just want some ideas on things that I can do besides what I do now. I keep the house clean, laundry kept up, and make meals and lunches for my man but I want to do something a little extra to let him now how much I appreciate him. I tell him often how much I love him and how thankful I am for him. Any cute ideas, or suggestions please!

Answer
I may not have a man, but I sure do know a lot about love ^___^

1.) draw a hot bath
2.) give him a kiss on the cheek/lips when he leaves for work
3.) make him a card from paper, and put it in his bag/suitcase. So that way in the morning, he can read it.
4.) make breakfast in the face of a smiley (this is good when your making pancakes)
5.) give him a massage
6.) secretly hold is hand and say "sorry, my hand got lost trying to find yours."
7.) sit in his lap
8.) do that spaghetti thing those dogs did in that movie "Lady and the tramp"
9.) If he's not too busy, call him at work and tell him how much you love/miss him. But don't do this too much. It could get annoying.
10.) Take him to see a romantic movie with you
11.) Tell him how much you have a joy being around him
12.) Ask him about his day at work
13.) cover his eyes from behind and say "guess whooo." and when he answers "who?" keep his eyes covered, and give him a kiss
14.) tickle him
15.) say that he's your "knight n' shiny armour"
16.) say that you feel safe when your with him
17.) tell him that you have a surprise for him and to cover his eyes. when his eyes are coverd, give him a kiss

Yeah, some of these are corny. But corny is the new cute :)

My school is going on a Europe Trip in March. How can I get 4000$?

Q. We need to start paying now I have no money and I really really want to go. I have no money, I tried job hunting but no will hire me. I tried asking the bank for a loan but they said they don't give loans to minors. The trip is like 3300$ but I need to buy a camera and you can't be in Europe with no spending money. Any suggestions? No crime related ideas thank you!

Answer
We recently assisted a local student raise $4500 for his People-to-People study in Europe. Ours is a small, rural community in which everyone pitches in to help one another. His family is by no means wealthy, either. Some of the things he did to raise money include:
- Got local restaurants to donate meals for a "Dining Around Town" raffle.
- Got a local jewelry store to donate his and hers watches for another raffle.
- Set up a table at local fairs to sell raffle tickets and solicit donations.
- Bagged groceries for tips at local supermarkets
- Got the nicest restaurant in town to split its profits from all patrons who ate lunch or dinner on a particular day and said they were supporters of the student. (You need to have a very altruistic restaurant owner for this to work. Luckily she is a good, church-going lady, and the boy is very active in the church his family attends)
- Did lots of yard work for neighbors
- Spoke to the Chamber of Commerce about his study opportunity and what it would mean and what he would bring back in knowledge and experience to share with his classmates. Business leaders pitched in nearly $600 on the spot.
- Washed lots of cars. Got his classmates to pitch in and help. His parents bought pizzas for the car washers, but he kept the money toward his trip.

Also, speak to your grandparents and relatives. An opportunity to experience European culture is something no one should miss. Let them know what a great experience this will be for you. They might have resources to help you out.

Above all, show spirit and initiative. If people see you are out there working to raise money for your trip, they will be more likely to help than if you sat around like a beggar in the marketplace. Good luck! (By the way, you can get a decent digital camera on eBay or Amazon.com for around $100.)

Amber

i'm going to be starting collage in the fall and i'm planing on bering my sack lunch most of the time but at the same time I what to try to keep it as heathey as possble .. any ideas ?

Answer
Packing a lunch for school and/or work can be a challenge. Often times you donât have access to a microwave or refrigeration. Eating the same thing every day can get old after a short time as well. My suggestions for lunch are listed below. Consider taking an insulated lunch bag to keep some of these things cold until itâs time to eat. You could also freeze your beverage (water, juice, etc) and use it as an ice pack if you donât have a lunch box.

Wraps, salads, and sandwiches are good for the âentrée courseâ of your lunch. Use different deli meats and cheeses every week so you donât tire of the same flavors. Itâs good to make homemade dressings or switch up the condiments on these items as well. Use as many fresh ingredients as possible to increase the nutritional value as well. Another idea would be to cook chicken breasts, fish, and pork tenderloins in large amounts over the weekend and keep the cooked meat in the fridge or freezer as an addition to your sandwiches, wraps, or salads. Itâs a nice change to deli meat. My family also enjoys chicken, tuna, or ham salad sandwiches every so often. And you can never go wrong with peanut butter and jelly!

As the âside dishesâ for your lunch, I would suggest any of the items listed below.
fruit, yogurt, pudding, or jello cups
fresh vegetables with ranch dressing
granola bars
popcorn
trail mix
chips (take salsa or a cheese dip for tortilla chips)
pretzels
100 calorie snack packs (cookies, brownie bites, etc)
special K cracker chips
dry cereal
fresh fruit (like apples/bananas with peanut butter, orange slices, grapes, etc)
tasty cakes (Little Debbie brand)
bologna and cheese cubes
broccoli, macaroni, pasta, or potato salad
crackers (goldfish, animal crackers, cheese or peanut butter filled sandwich crackers)
dried fruit (raisins, craisins, banana/apricot/apple chips)
deviled or pickled eggs
cheese curls or cheese balls
fun sized candy bars
mixed nuts
gummy candy
marshmallows

I want to start taking salads to work for lunch but there aren't any refrigerators to put my food in. How would I be able to keep a salad fresh?

Answer
blue ice jel packs!! I use these a lot, and keep twice as many as I need in the freezer.

How can I "brown bag" a lunch in a professional office?

~ Jamie ~

To save money, I'd like to pack a lunch and bring snacks with me to my job. Years ago, I would just throw food into a plastic grocery bag. I have a higher level position now, and don't want to bring anything tacky. The brown paper "lunch" bags are not large enough. How does everyone else bring their lunches? Is there a streamlined, insulated bag that is plain and professional looking?

Answer
I've seen a lot of women put lunch, drinks, snacks, etc in gift bags and take it to work.

Can i wash my north face book bag in the washing machine?

Olivia

I have had The north face women's borealis book bag for a while now. Today i went to school, put a banana in there to eat for lunch, my book bag fell off my desk and the banana got squished. i obviously need to clean but not sure how. any suggestions?

Answer
North Face is a brand connected with good craftsmanship: If the seams are tight, you should be able to turn it inside out and wash it. Maybe balance the load with a couple pairs of jeans or other heavy clothing of the same color, cold water or warm. Hot might cause bleed of the dye. A gentle soap (not a harsh detergent) will probably be fine. I think it would probably need a couple days to dry by hanging. A dryer would affect the shape by shrinking with heat. If you need it in a hurry, put it in a dryer on no or super low heat. Otherwise hanging is best, outdoors will dry faster than indoors.

If you think the bag might be too rough for washing with other clothes, you can always tie it inside a pillowcase. It will still wash fine that way.

you should probably get the curvy tote, since it conforms to your body and makes carrying binders around more comfortable...

What bags do you recommend taking to school?

virginialg

In a little bit over a month, I am going to be returning to school again. I am going to need a large bag for my academics because my school has scheduling where we have all seven classes, and need all of our textbooks and materials for seven classes, one day a week. Otherwise, we have normal "block scheduling", which I am sure you are all familiar with. In the past, I have used backpacks and a messenger bag (I hated the messenger bag). Since using a locker is kind of a variable, and I will most likely end up carrying around my backpack all day, I am interested in a bag that can manage my needs... but that is also stylish! I know a lot of my friends carry purses to school, and although I love purses, I just can't see adding yet another bag to my daily load.

In addition to this, I am going to need a bag for field hockey practice every day after school. I know a lot of stick bags are either intended for one stick and nothing else, or are so bulky that they can fit eight sticks and still have spare room! I am also not interested in anything similar to one of the STX stick backpacks because they aren't practical to carry in addition to my academics bag. This bag doesn't need to be extremely large, but just enough room for two pairs of shoes (cleats and running shoes), shin guards and socks, water bottle, mouth guard, and my one stick. I'm really not interested in style options on this bag.

Lastly, I am in search of a new lunchbox. I am not interested in the food that they serve in the cafeteria, or the lines you must wait through to get the so-so food. My last lunchbox just went kaput, and I hated it anyways. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good (fashionable AND functional) lunchboxes. Preferably one that can fit a water bottle in it as well. I don't know if this influences your input, but I do tend to carry my lunchbox inside of my backpack (as it is one less bag to carry).

Thank you so much for reading all of that, and inputting your ideas! (:

Does the Packit work?

insulated lunch bags under $5 on ALL Summer Lunch Totes ONLY $5.50 SHIPPED!
insulated lunch bags under $5 image

Tyra

So I'm going to get the packet but i have a couple of questions first. 1 does it really work like it says it does. and 2 the buy one get one free offer, are they both the same size? Please I really need help especially number 2!!

Answer
There are a few disadvantages to using PackIt lunch bags and a practical one amongst them is the fact that it doesnât have a provision for putting labels on them. How can you write your child and teacherâs name on it then? On the other hand, the gel packs start sweating as they begin to defrost. Hence itâs useless to try and pack napkins with your childâs lunch because they will get wet and soggy before use.

According to some customers the food didnât stay cool for more than 3 hours, which was hugely disappointing. Cold yoghurts go warm and salads begin to wilt; there goes your idea of a cool healthy lunch. You are better off opting for the regular insulated bags, which can be used with ice pack to greater effect. And itâs a lot cheaper option as well. PackIt is certainly not worth its price, especially when you have a cheaper alternative that does the job better.

And then thereâs the Velcro Issue to deal with. Kids will naturally hold the bags by the top handle, but what happens because of that is the Velcro tends to come apart. Itâs just not strong enough and whatâs worse is it cannot be sewn back because you will end up damaging the gel pack thatâs under the fabric.

Lunch Bags Get Wet:
PackIt on the whole seems a good idea but lacks in execution. It doesnât keep food cool for 10 hours for starters. To make matters worse, the bags get wet from the inside when the freezer pack starts defrosting. Thatâs a strict no-no.

PackIt doesnât work for 10 hours as claimed:
You are told that PackIt keeps your food cool for 10 hours at refrigerator temperature, but thatâs not the case at all. You will manage to keep food cool for about 5-6 hours at a sort of low cool temperature. Itâs absolutely unsuitable for milk and other dairy products, which will not last.

PackIt Alternatives
Getting a MNT lunch bag is a much better idea. You can use it brilliantly with two ice packs. It will keep food, including juices and milk cool for a good ten hours and itâs a lot cheaper option as well. You can buy them at Amazon.com

Whats the scoop with being a liveaboard?

bluness33

I'm thinking of living aboard a boat (likely a sailboat to save money and ship-space from a big engine, in addition to gas money). I have a few questions to put out there that I'm having a hard time getting a clear idea of from browsing the internet...

Some preface information... I would be thinking of living in Baltimore (looking at Anchorage Marina because I've read some great things about it)... it would just be me and my girlfriend living on board, so I'm thinking of something like a 35-or-so ft. I think that covers most of what I'm looking at, so for the questions...

1. I'm under the impression that by combining residence, transportation, and recreation into one investment, that living aboard saves money and is a very affordable means of residence... what kind of pay range do you recommend as the minimum to make such an ambition work? How much can you save by living on a boat versus a house/condo (I know it depends on what kind of house/condo/boat, but generally speaking)

2. How does power, television, and internet work? Is it an exceptional hassle? I'm pretty reliant on the internet and xbox on roughly a daily basis -- how much of this would I have to give up? or would it not be that much of an issue? (for what its worth, the Marina I'm eying from a distance has WiFi on dock [but is this a legitimate internet connection?])

3. How difficult is it to sail? I think it would be a therapeutic hobby for me to pick up, as I have anxiety -- How much time should I give myself to learn before living aboard?

4. What are the best types of boats to look at? I'm just not sure what types to narrow down to -- what types are typically for liveaboards versus racing and fishing

5. How difficult is it to liveaboard during the winter? Is heat an issue?

6. Are there any good websites that are well designed and well organized for people getting into living aboard that I can refer to in the future?

7. Is the bathroom an issue? Both toilet performance, and shower quality -- I dont know how much it would differ from land bathrooms

What other general tips would you spread to me?

Answer
I'm doing what your thinking about. It's a different life style and it's a bit unusual for a non-boater to undertake living aboard. However, some of your questions show at least an understanding of things to consider. I'm in the inter harbor and slips are limited. Slip fees vary with the amenities offered. They range from $5500 a year to $2500....

Let me answer some of your questions.

1. Living aboard is very cost effective.....standing alone. If you own the boat (now's a good time to buy) you can budget less than $600 a month. That includes slip, parking, water (seasonal) and cable TV, and WiFi. Options may include Gym and pool.

The apartments in this area start a about $1k a month and range up to $2400 a Month

2. You have dockside power (metered) but unlike a house where you often have 200-500 AMP service, boats have 60-90 Amps available....which means you have to actively manage your power usage. TV is Comcast cable.....basic service is included. Wifi is available from Portnet.net.....Under 30 a month if you have to pay. 11 MPS. Higher bd rates available. It's not a big hassle, but you have to think green!

3. Sailing is not difficult, but I wouldn't rule out power boats as well.. I'd guess there are more liveaboards on power than sail. The learning curve isn't learning to sail but learning to live aboard.....the first winter is hardest......but as a friend said,"I survived the winter, but look at what I wake-up to now.".....meaning living on the water.....it's like the beach only better.

4. In sail, 80's 37-42 sailboats.....Hunter, Catalina, Tartan, Irwin, Morgan. Newer Beneteau's . In Power , don't think just houseboats....Mainship, Carver, Bayliner, Sea Ray..... Think Cruising sail or power.

5. Most boats are not well insulated, so you have to do that.....then it's not much different from a house....with electric heat. two 1500W heaters can be expensive to run, (250 a month) in winter but will keep you comfortable. Compare that with what a lot of people pay for their house.....they would love a bill that low. Sleeping bags or electric blankets are a must have on a boat in winter.

6. There are a couple web sites, but person to person contact on the docks is far more valuable........Google "liveaboards in MD"

7. Another answerer said you pumpout weekly. That's way to much more like once every 2-3 weeks or less...., but you do learn to go ashore. Marine tolets do have a learning curve. Water pressure is 40 psi. where city pressure is 80+psi. but you can shower......a lot of us use the gym or marina showers...

One fact is often overlooked. There is much less crime, don't know the reason, but even the petty stuff is less. and you barely hear the police and fire sirens that are a part of city life....Then there are things like the Pirate weekend in fells point, boating the inter harbor, Clubing in Canton, the Tiki bar at BMC lunch at Bay Cafe ; then the ringside seat for the fireworks shows.

What are some good ideas for a lunchbox/bag for a teen girl?

School starts soon and I need a lunchbox. I don't want a normal lunchbox like younger kids. Some people use those little bags from stores, like Abercrombie and Fitch mini bags. Other people use recyclable bags and brown bags. I don't really want to use any of these. What are some of your ideas for a lunchbox/bag for teen girls?

The song you are thinking of is, "LDN" by Lily Allen. It is off of her album titled, "Alright Still". Here you go. Enjoy!

LDN
Riding through the city on my bike all day
Cause the filth took away my licence
It doesn't get me down and I feel ok
Cause the sights that I'm seeing are priceless

Everything seems to look as it should
But I wonder what goes on behind doors
A fella looking dapper, but he's sittin with a slapper
Then I see it's a pimp and his crack whore

You might laugh you might frown
Walkin' round London town

Chorus
Sun is in the sky oh why oh why ?
Would I wanna be anywhere else
Sun is in the sky oh why oh why ?
Would I wanna be anywhere else

When you look with your eyes
Everything seems nice
But if you look twice
You can see it's all lies

There was a little old lady, who was walkin down the road
She was struggling with bags from Tesco
There were people from the city havin lunch in the park
I believe that it's called al fresco
[ Ldn lyrics found on http://www.completealbumlyrics.com ]
Then a kid came along to offer a hand

But before she had time to accept it
Hits her over the head, doesn't care if she's dead

Hey can someone give me some advice/tips about this?

ANTIMATTER

Ok I am trying to buy some icecream and take it home,Problem is it always gets soft/liquid(opposite of frozen) in those 10-15 minutes that is needed to reach home from shop.

So I was wondering can you folks give me some tips or advice about how can I carry the ice creams to my home without getting them all soft/liquid in those 10-15 minutes?
@Geewhiz what are you referring to by "cooler"?Can you give a link about this thing pls.

Answer
There are any number of soft sided insulated coolers that you can buy at Walmart, Kmart, drug stores etc that hold about a 6 pack or so of pop or insulated lunch bags, or even cheap bags that you can buy at some grocery stores that keep cold stuff cold and hot stuff hot. I carry one of the square ones in my car all the time in case I buy ice cream when I am out.

Do i need to keep my lunch meat cold?

Jimmee

I like salami/pepperoni sandwiches. I leave the house @ 7:15 and eat lunch @ 12:00. Do i need to keep my sandwich cold or can I just keep it in a ziplock bag? I'm a little ignorant when it comes to what needs to be kept cold all the time. thanx:)

Answer
Yes, by all means, especially in the summer. Carry your lunch in a insulated lunch bag. They sell them at your local Kmart, Walmart, etc.

Help!? Ideas for a packed lunch?

insulated lunch bag ladies on Insulated Lunch Bags, Lunch Bags, Lunch Bag, Tote, Totes, Tote Bag ...
insulated lunch bag ladies image

.:Emerald:

Hi!
I finally got accepted to a modeling agency and am about to take classes! (YAY!)
The lady there told me to bring lunch as it is a 5 hour class... I need good ideas for a packed lunch!
Nothing too hard to prepare, needs to stay fresh, easy to make or find, and not too big or small.
Thank you so much!

As the âside dishesâ for your lunch, I would suggest any of the items listed below.
fruit, yogurt, pudding, or jello cups
fresh vegetables with ranch dressing
granola bars
popcorn
trail mix
chips (take salsa or a cheese dip for tortilla chips)
pretzels
100 calorie snack packs (cookies, brownie bites, etc)
special K cracker chips
dry cereal
fresh fruit (like apples/bananas with peanut butter, orange slices, grapes, etc)
tasty cakes (Little Debbie brand)
bologna and cheese cubes
broccoli, macaroni, pasta, or potato salad
crackers (goldfish, animal crackers, cheese or peanut butter filled sandwich crackers)
dried fruit (raisins, craisins, banana/apricot/apple chips)
deviled or pickled eggs
cheese curls or cheese balls
fun sized candy bars
mixed nuts
gummy candy
marshmallows

what school supplies should i get my daughter for preschool?

Pink

she is starting preschool sept 8th. i am so excited for her and also excited for me! the free time for me, and the learning and meeting new friends for her she is an only child even though i take care of my niece and she lives with me she is 5 and she is going to 1st grade. she has 1st grade school supplies but what do i get for a 4 year old starting preschool its full time preschool from 9:15 til 3:55 just like regular school. i am so excited for her. she is very excited i got my niece a book bag and my baby was so excited that this year she could pick out 1 too she smiled all the way to the register and didnt want the lady to put it in a bag she had to wear it out the store, they got the same big girl book bags. ahh im soo excited, i think im more excited than her!

but back to my question what kind of school supplies do i get for a 4 year old starting preschool? because i no she doesn't need all the same things my niece does.

Answer
My son's preschool mailed a supply list with his acceptance letter. I don't know if private schools like his are different from what you may be doing or not but his supply list was 2 large rolls of paper towels, 2 large pump soaps, 2 boxes of kleenex and 2 large packages of diaper wipes. Also on the list were a complete extra set of clothing, including pull up or underwear, in a gallon size ziploc bag, a backpack free of characters or offensive print, insulated lunch box free of characters or offensive prints, no hard case lunch containers. They also specified that the kids had to have a school jacket and non-marking sole shoes for school.

Each day he goes I have to provide lunch for him as well as a healthy snack. He has the option to go for an extended stay day for an extra fee and to purchase milk and or hot lunch from the school cafeteria for .50 - $3.00 if wanted.

If you haven't gotten a list yet I'd call the preschool and ask if there are any supplies your child will need to bring the first day of school. Usually I have found preschools will request things like hand sanitizer, paper towels, kleenex, gallon size zip bags, art smock, diaper wipes or other similar things they use in quantity. Other preschools provide everything and require no supplies other than a backpack and lunch/snack for your child each day and change of clothing. It wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

He is determined to be a professional ballplayer (yes, I know the stat's of that happening) what can I do to help him nutritionally?

Current Lunch:

Turkey/Roast Beef/ or Peanut Butter Jelly Sandwich on wheat bread
Grapes or Apples (clementines when in season)
Chips or crackers
Cookies
cheese sticks

Obviously, I would love to cut out the chips and perhaps cookies could be replaced with something healhier.... would love suggestions!

Thanks!

Answer
Here is fure tips for eat a quick and healthy lunch for school boy, please see:
Stock up on lunch possibilities when you shop for groceries. Think simple -- a loaf of whole wheat bread and a jar of peanut butter; a package of corn tortillas, a can of black beans, and some fresh tomatoes; frozen veggie burgers, whole grain hamburger buns, and a jar of roasted sweet peppers. Throw together a few of your favorite ingredients, and see what happens!
On days when you buy a sandwich, go to a place that'll make one to order. Ask for turkey or roast beef, extra tomatoes and onions, and only a smidge of mayonnaise. Better yet, opt for mustard. Don't get tuna if it's mixed with lots of mayo. By skipping that eggy, oily spread, you'll cut back the fat and cholesterol significantly.
Prepare lunch items the night before right after dinner. This saves on clean-up time. Store food properly. In the morning pack foods in the lunch box.
Don't forget food safety. If refrigeration is not available, use insulated lunch boxes or bags with frozen ice or gel packs.

How does a lunch cooler work?

spachick20

I have a flat napsack looking cooler bag. What is the best way to prepare it so that it keeps my food cool for at least 6 hrs?

Answer
I would store it in the fridge overnight, open, so that the insulating materiel and the inside are good and cold. then, only put cold food into it. You could, if there is room, add one of those gel packs you freeze to help maintain temp.

Did you do say anything extremely funny yet stupid today?

Katrocious

Lol, today at lunch we were talking about dogs and one of my guy friends said, "one time my dog had her period all over my bed." We were all like "eew!!!" Then I said, "That happened to Carrie (my friend, who isn't in our lunch) when she came over." (I meant that my dog had her period on her blanket and stuff.) Then there was an awkward silence and i got a lot of weird looks, so I said "She was in heat." Just now, 7 hours later, I realized that they must have thought that i meant Carrie had bled all over! I never really specified that it was my dog. Lol, i crack myself up! This guy who'se got a crush on her and was also sitting at the table will never think of her the same way again. Haha, i hope she never hears about this.

Answer
I very rarely ever write "lol" but your question literally did make me LAUGH OUT LOUD. Oh my goodness, that's priceless.

Yes, I did indeed inadvertently do something stupid today. We're allowed to dress casually on Fridays, and so I wore a new pair of yoga pants that were a bit too big, not realizing that they'd stretch out throughout the day and start to slip down. My friend lent me a scarf to tie around my waist to help keep them up, and I thought I'd be fine. During lunch I was walking across the quad and noticed a lot of people gaping at me. Not laughing or pointing, just OO staring, and that's when I realized that the friction of my bag against the scarf had made it fall off and that my pants were hanging down below my hips. Everyone could see everything. On the upside, I was wearing a pair of really adorable Paul Frank underpants with "You're Rad" printed on the back so the entire school now knows they're rad. : ) I'm a senior and we're a chilled-out group, so everyone was actually really, really funny and sweet about it, and I'm not that embarrassed.

I can sort of relate to your mishap. One of my cousins from the UK was visiting us a few years ago when my school was having an art day, and she came with. This obnoxious boy who'd been following her around and bugging her half the day grabbed her sketch pad and started taunting her by holding it over his head and refusing to give it back until she was so exasperated she shouted out "GIVE ME BACK MY BLOODY PAD!" so loud everyone stopped what they were doing and swiveled their head around and stared at her in stunned silence. In the UK "bloody" is just a swear wear and doesn't literally mean bloody, but of course that's not the meaning everyone initially thought of it that context. He was so embarrassed he dropped the pad and left her alone the rest of the day.

~ Pax / Peace : )

anyone had anything embarrassing happen today?

Q. i did :L

firstly my best boy mate walked past and said hey, i was in my own little world and tooks a few seconds to realise this then when i did i turned to say hey back and i slipped down the three steps by the girls toilets....

... then after lunch i was going to my lesson and i was talking to my friend... we were going up the staircase with the gaps between the stairs, i tripped landed on my ass and dropped my shoe about five steps down... there were quite a few people on the staircase. :/ it was soo embarrassing haha

i should never walk and talk at the same time ever again when near stairs.

soo how was your day?

BQ: do you go to school? and where do you live?

Answer
Haha, sorry to hear you've had a very embarrasing day :)

But i think mine was worse!! I was talking to this guy on bus on the way home that i just met and he was really cute and i really liked him, so he gave me his number. Then the bus was coming upto my stop so i started walking down the middle and when i reached the top of the stairs (it was a double decker bus) the bus suddenly stopped and i hit my head on the pole next to the stairs, spun round and fell over and all the things in my bag flew out, including my tampons!! It was so embarrasing!!! I went bright red and just got up and left while he was hysterically laughing. I don't think i'm getting a call from him anytime soon!!

BQ: Yes i go to school and i live in UK.

How do I know if she likes me?

Kyle

She jokes around, and she sometimes touches my arm and says she can feel my freckles? And she is always joking around like she is stalking me, but we would always joke afterwards, because she would say something very creepy and crack out laughing, Just so you know, i do not like this girl, but i dont if she likes me, but i do know a guy who does, and he put a love letter in her locker, but, sorry im getting sidetracked, does that mean she likes me, or can i just laugh with her as a friend without being suspicious?

Answer
She's Always Wearing a Dumb Grin

Regardless of where in the world you go, there is nothing more universal than the sheepish smile of a person who is smitten. As the two of you spend time around each other â at the water cooler, after a class, etc. â she won't be able to hide her pleasure at stealing a few minutes with you. That ridiculous grin will be your first hint at the larger possibilities taking root in her heart.

Instead of Talking, She Listens a Lot

There can be little doubt that women have the gift of gab. Watch her spew out thousands of words per minute with one of her girlfriends. Does she do the same thing when you are paired up? Is she more likely to ask you a question and hang on every word? Both are good signs (the first entails she wants to include you in her life) but the latter is big hint she has more in mind than just letting you talk about what's going on every day â she wants to be a part of it.

She Laughs at All Your Jokes

Even the most successful comedians tell jokes that bomb from time to time â no one is perfect when it comes to being funny. If she's making you feel like you are, chances are it's because she likes you. For guys, the impression you have a great sense of humor is a big confidence boost. She knows that and, by finding you âhilariousâ more often than she should, she is indicating her desire to connect with you in any way possible.

You Find Her Beside You Frequently

In real estate, conventional wisdom states the three most important things are âLocation, location and location.â It's no different when it comes to people who like each other. In a crowd, the pair with a mutual attraction are more likely to be jockeying to get close. Any opportunity to get next to you is like gold for her, so she will attempt to sit in the nearest desk or visit your cubicle often.

She Makes Constant Eye Contact

You know the feeling of someone looking at you from across a room? If she likes you, it's fairly likely you will end up with that feeling pretty regularly. You might not like being compared to an object, but humans naturally look on the things they desire with regularity. It doesn't matter if it's a new pair of shoes, a dress in her favorite color or just the guy she hopes will ask her out, she is going to keep looking until she gets what she is wishing for.

Her Hands Are All Over You

Let's clear something up before we go too much further: she will not be touching you like that. What she will do, however, is find subtle ways to break into your personal bubble and steal some physical contact. She might, say, throw an arm around your shoulder to congratulate you on completing a project or rest her hand on your shoulder while taking your lunch order. She absolutely can't resist the temptation to do so, even if it seems pretty low-level to you.

She Brags About Her Abilities

Men and women both like to puff themselves up, especially on job interviews or when attempting to catch someone's eye. When she talks about how great she is in the kitchen, it's because she wants to cook for you. Has she been telling you all the details of her latest speedy run? She's hoping you'll get out on the trail with her. It's another way for her to demonstrate her qualities as a potential mate, a sure sign she's after your heart.

You Get a Present or Two Regularly

Speaking of her baking skills, have you received a pan of brownies or bag of cookies? Something else? Though you might be thinking she'll bring you a new book or a video game you're craving, the little heartfelt gestures are the first steps to the big-ticket items. She might drop off a fresh pack of pens if she hears you complaining about losing yours again, too, as a way to demonstrate how much she cares about your needs.

She Dresses to Impress

For guys, this often means they put on nicer shirts (and sometimes neckties) to show girls how sharp they can look. In the case of a girl that likes you, it's almost always that and the exact opposite. She might show up to watch the game with you in a T-shirt sporting your team's favorite logo or put on a sweatshirt and jeans to come closer to your personal style. It's her subconscious way of saying, âLook at how much alike we are!â in order to get you to ask her out.

Her Schedule Increasingly Matches Yours

Ever noticed how, when you can't stop thinking about someone, they always seem to appear? Is it just that you are lucky or because you are looking for them without knowing it? When you notice her showing up in the spots you love to hang out, it is probably because she's subconsciously looking to spend time with you in any way possible. Even waving at you from the other side of the library is a thrill for her, she likes you so much

How much protein, iron, fat, and fibre do I need?

Cybele

I'm 20 years old, work out 40 minutes, 3 times a week, 5'6" 140 lbs. How much protein, iron, fat, and fibre would I need a day? I'm just not sure that I'm getting enough

Answer
You generally want 1 gram of protein for every 1 pound of lean body weight to help maintain your muscle mass. So get a bodyfat test and minus your bodyfat pounds from your total weight for your lean body mass (LBM). As you're a woman at 5'6" @ 140, I would put your bodyfat at 20% give or take, so you should consume about 110 grams of protein a day.

For the iron, take a multi-vitamin everyday with breakfast.

For fiber you need to eat veggies, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and limited amounts of whole grain breads/buns.

Healthy fat can be taken in pills (omega 3 & 6).

If you want to lose bodyfat or just maintain a healthy weight, follow my diet:

The first things you want to eliminate from what you eat are: sugar, fried foods, and white flour. You want to eat as natural and unprocessed food as possible.

Sugar, anything with it is bad. From Coco-Crispies cereal, nearly all sodas, to a small bag a M&M's. All turn into body fat fairly quickly.

Fried foods. Chips, french fries, etc. All have very high levels of calories and fats. Cut out mayonaisse and butter while you're at it.

White flour. White breads, spahgetti, Ramen noodles, most cereals, tortillas (corn & flour).

You're going to want to eat 5-7 small meals/snacks in a day. That may seem like a lot of eating, but look at it this way. Say your lost in the woods and you need to make a fire that will last all night. Will the fire last longer throwing all the wood you've collected into the fire once or twice during the night, or if you toss a couple of logs in once every 45 minutes-hour?

Your body is pretty similar. You need to feed it a little bit every 2-3 hours to keep it burning fat. The longer you go in between meals, the more likely your body is going to store what you eat as fat. This is because your body doesn't realize that there is food everywhere in the world we live in. It still thinks your a cave-man. And cave-men didn't get to eat very often. Sometimes once every 3-5 days...starving. So our body is designed to store what we eat as fat, because fat has the most energy (calories) per pound. So, if you sleep all night, then skip breakfast and don't eat until lunch at say 11:30am...you probably haven't ate anything in 12+ hours. So, your body thinks your starving, that there is no food to eat. Then you eat a nice, greasy, calorie-loaded slice of pizza. Your body will then store most of it as fat because it thinks there is a food shortage.

Aim for 250-300 calories at each meal/snack.
Also try to eat 20-30 grams of protein at each meal. And of course, your going to want to keep even healthy carbs to a minimum (less than 80 grams a day).

The healthiest carbs are:
Yams
Oatmeal (no sugar)
Sweet Potatoes
Brown Rice

OK carbs are:
Whole-grain bread/buns/tortillas (whole-grain should be the first name on the ingredients list)
Fruits

Aside from the carbs listed above, your meals should consist of:
Chicken breast
Turkey breast
Tuna
Salmon
Egg whites
Almonds
Low-fat cheese (cottage, string cheese)
Lots of vegtables
Lots of water

You need to drink 1 gallon (128oz)minimum per day. Water is what carries the toxins and fat you burn off out of your body through your urine. It also helps keep you feeling full and does wonders for your skin. If your urine isn't clear like water, drink more.

Also, take a multi-vitamin (like Centrum).

If you were to do cardio like ride a bike or jog for 20-45 minutes everyday AND diet, you'll be several sizes smaller in no time. But remember, losing weight is 90% about what you eat, not how much you exercise.

Bodybuilders and fitness models basically eat this way. Not only is it low calorie, low carb, high in protein and natural...it controls your blood/sugar levels and how your body uses the food based on the glycemic index.

PS+ take a thermogenic fat burner also (hyrdroxycut, xenedrine, etc). Just remember to drink more water.

And have 1 cheat meal a week. Gorge yourself on a couple monster burgers, pizza, or french fries...it doesn't matter. It will taste better than it EVER has and also give your mind and body a break.
