Q. I am the chairperson of my school's prom favors committee. What are some things that you have received or like to receive as prom favors? Be creative!

note: we have a $10 per person budget.

My favorite is the lunch tote to prepare the kids for college and/or work after high school. It does not have to be customized. I would leave it plain. The pattern fits both boys and girls. You can add a customized tag to each from a computer. "Class of 2011" on a circle tag with glitter to jazz it up is something different. Also they can be wrapped in cellophane. The back of the tag can have a quote about the memories together that go on during high school. Many were made during lunch :)

Also kids always want a snack of some sort after prom after a long night of dancing so thats why I say add a few mini variety pack of snack bags to them. 2 in each one

cotton cami (lady's undershirt) with lace--basically you need to know S, M, or L--usually at Old Navy, Gap, Penney's, etc.--usually under $10
soft sweater
long-sleeved T-shirt
flannel sheets for winter, probably in a basic color like ivory or cream colored
over-sized velour towels
LED flashlight--look for bright colored ones like hot pink
calendar or appointment book for 2014
insulated cup or lunch bag
lunch, brunch, or dinner out--I would like this the best.
tickets to a stage play or musical
Ask her if she'd like a cat or dog from the animal shelter, then the 2 of you can go to pick it out.
If she drives, take her car to the car wash for "the works."
If it's her b-day, then cake & ice cream.
