This is my creative story for english & I need help editing it and what do you think about it? Please read all of it and tellme what you think PLEASE&THANKS!!

When the dismissal bell rang, I didnât rush. Why should I? Iâm not in a hurry and no oneâs waiting on me, except for maybe my brother. Iâm Mackenzie Woods, I live in New York City, and Iâm 15, almost old enough to drive, not that Iâll get a car when I do. Josh is my only brother, heâs 18, and he has his license but no car. My mom and dad, John and Elizabeth Woods disagree about everything.
Here comes my brother now, soon weâll be off on our 3 mile walk back home, in the freezing cold. âAre you ready to go?â He asked me as he walked up. âI guess so, are you?â I said as I grabbed the couple things I needed out of my locker. âAlright, letâs go.â He told me and I quickly packed up my bag, and picked it up.
As we walked, we talked about how our day was, and what weâre going to do tomorrow. We walk home because the buses take too long, my brother doesnât have a car, and we donât have much money.
Lots of my friends argue with their siblings, but we donât. I guess itâs because we get tired of hearing our parents do it.
Before I even walked through the door, I could tell they had been arguing. I could just feel it in the air. Sure enough as soon as I opened the door I heard yelling from the kitchen.
âNo, I will not allow my children to live here anymore.â Mom yelled. âWell, theyâre my kids too, so I think I should have a say in this too, shouldnât I?â Dad yelled back even louder. We walked quietly by the kitchen, not that they would have heard us if we weâre.
When I was finally upstairs locked in my room I quickly did my homework, and then went to take a shower. When I was through, I listened, but didnât hear anymore yelling.
Deciding it was safe, I went downstairs, and made myself two peanut butter sandwiches. I didnât see my parents but you could tell where they had been, things broken and on the floor, probably from being thrown.
âSomeoneâs hungry.â Everything inside of me died just then, knowing it was my dad. âYes, I am hungry since I didnât eat lunch today because I didnât have any money.â I said to him quietly. âWell, just donât eat everything, because I have to eat too.â That was my dad, always thinking only of himself. âOf course I wonât, I donât eat as much as some people do.â I said defensively. âAre you calling me fat?â He raised his voice a little. âI am not fat; I think you are the one that needs to lose a few pounds yourself!â He said, yelling so loud, the neighbors could probably hear him.
That was all it took, I burst out in tears and went running out of the house. Why would he say that? He knows how I was with anorexia. Eventually, I ran out of breath and I was in the park so I went over to one of the kid swings and sat down. There was no one there but me, and why would there be considering its November and itâs freezing cold.
I sat there for a while crying, I donât know how long, and then I saw someoneâs feet. They were just standing there right there in front of me, like they were watching me. When I looked up, I saw that there was a guy standing there looking at me.
âOh, hi, I saw you over here and it looked like something was wrong.â He said when he noticed I looked up. âYes, I need help but I donât think your going to be able to help me.â I said and sighed sadly. âWhat if I just sit here while you tell me whatâs going on and Iâll just listen?â He asked. I said yes, because I really needed someone to talk to.
We sat there, and talked for a while, and I realized it was getting dark and I probably need to be home soon, so I mentioned this. âYes, it is getting a little dark; maybe we should get you back home.â He said sadly. âNot like I want to go back there, but thereâs nowhere else I can go.â I said as I tried to clean my face up. We talked a few more minutes, and then we started to walk back to my house. Before we got there, he gave me a piece of paper and told me to call him anytime I needed to talk. He said âSee you at school tomorrow.â, and left.
As soon as I closed the door, my mom was there beside me. âWhere have you been?â She screams at me. âI was at the park.â I tried to answer calmly. âWho gave you permission to go?â she yelled at me again. âNo one did, I just went because I felt like it.â After I said that I walked out and went upstairs, while she yelled at me the entire time.
I could still hear her yelling, but I knew she would give up in a few minutes, because she doesnât really care and I know she wonât come upstairs. I grabbed the phone out of my dadâs office and went to my brotherâs room. âWe have to call Aunt _____ and see if we can move in with her, I canât live here anymore.â I told my brother. We called and she agreed that we should move in with her.
The next morning quickly got ready, digging through the piles of clothes to find something to wear. (I'm going to add the rest of the story)
After I finished getting ready, I grabbed my old backpack and threw the things I would need at my auntâs house. After I finished I went downstairs and Josh was already there so we left quietly before our parents woke up.
After school was over, we walked outside and there was Aunt __needs a name___ waiting in her car for us. She told us that we are moving in with her permanently. Thatâs when I knew my life was going to get a whole lot better.

I didn't really read the article, but I assume you're talking about Mrs. Q. I have been following her blog for a year - interesting stuff.
No, I would not eat the public school lunches for a year. I also wouldn't make my children eat them for a day. They mostly consist of processed, nutritionally barren crap. I have always made healthy, appetizing bagged lunches, and my son loves them.

Worth the extra expense on board the freedon of the seas? Is alcohol (example: cocktails) same price on one ship and on another?

Here's my review of the Freedom:

We went on voyage # 23 on Nov 5th, 2006 on the Freedom of the Seas. It is a very nice ship, but not one I want to cruise on again. This ship is designed to attract young people and families with kids. It will compete with Carnival and Disney because of its features.

I was somewhat surprised that check-in for a ship holding over 4,000 passengers went so quickly. The check-in could have been even faster if they had more than one person checking Set Sail Passes at the door and opened more stations to take security photos for the Sea Pass. As it was it took less than 45 minutes.

I will not try to list all of the great new and different things on this ship as they are available on the Royal Caribbean web site. Our cabin (8560) was great, as nice as any I have had. It was very roomy and had plenty of space for clothing. The balcony was huge and only needed better chairs for relaxing, like loungers, to make it the best. I give the shipâs Spa a rating of A+ for the quality and diversity of equipment and the fact that it has both a steam and sauna, plus a speed bag and a heavy bag to go with a boxing ring. Each treadmill, elliptical, stepper and bicycle had its own TV screen and you could select the channel you watched (had to use your own headphones for sound). There were plenty of pools and hot tubs, and an abundance of lounge chairs around the pools and on other decks. It was not hard to find a seat.

The formal dining room is a three story room that is elegant. The food was good and so was the wait service for dinner. We didnât feel the same for breakfast and lunch, but it was acceptable. The major problems I had with food service on ship was accessibility for casual dining. It appears that the intent on the ship is to keep all food consumption in one area of the ship. The primary casual dining place is the Windjammer Café on Deck 11. The Windjammer is too small to handle all of the passengers on ship for casual dining. When we first boarded ship we had to really hunt for a place to sit and found that the same applied any time we went there during peak hours. The option of taking food from the Windjammer to the pool or your cabin is made difficult because you must go back out of the one entrance, through a busy elevator bay, and then through a revolving door in order to get to the pool area and the first pool that you come to is the kidsâ H2O zone. In addition, if you want a cup of coffee or tea, or even iced tea or lemonade you have only one place to go, the Windjammer. Thatâs a long walk from most anywhere, and you have to negotiate the crowds. We found that ordering breakfast room service was much better than trying to get to the Windjammer. The room service was great with food usually delivered in 15 to 20 minutes.

The entertainment was good, except one comedian who stuck, and the last show was really good. Another big plus for this ship is itsâ stop at the Royal Caribbeanâs private island, Labadee. The island is huge and has a variety of beaches and activities (like Jet Ski and parasailing). There were enough lounge chairs for everyone and plenty of shade trees. They even have a tram to take you from one end to the other and sand wheel chairs for the handicapped. The beach party food was nothing special, standard foods like hot dogs and hamburgers, etc. The one thing that we needed was a map of the island so we would know where things were.

Drinks are expensive and pretty much the same price on all ships.

Iberostar (any of them, but I stayed at Iberostar Punta Cana) are PERFECT!!! There is something for everyone. They even have a childrens 'babysitter' that takes the kids around.

This review will explain in a different way our review of the resort. First, we agree with all of the positive reviews in this site. Yes, the food was great, the grounds and beach was also beautiful and the people were very nice. This will go beyond the typical review and hopefully help a bit in your stay:

Airport tips - Since you can't bring water through security bring empty water bottles and fill them up at the drinking fountains after you go through. This helped on the plane as well as at the airport on the other end.

Arrival - The airport was pretty efficient but expect to pay a $10.00 tourist tax before entering. No one expected this at the airport. Also, have your tourist paperwork completely filled out on the plane, make sure you bring a pen with. The rides to your resort will be waiting for you at the enterance and will help with all the bags.

Resort - Check-in was fast and they bring your bags to your room, PLEASE TIP. They do a lot of work. The glass of refreshments was a nice touch. Clean as I've ever seen, walk around after settling in to get to know where everything is and there is a lot.

Room - Bring a extension cord (small) because the outlets are set in the wall. Air conditioning is strong but good. Ask for water anyting and don't forget DONT DRINK THE WATER from the sink or shower.

Food - Get reservations to the specialty restaurants form the women at the computers right away. They fill up reservations pretty fast. The Gourmet Rest. was great with the largest lobster I've seen. The help there was great, PLEASE TIP, they deserve it. Also the Mexican was very nice with good food.

Tipping - The reason I put this in so much is that they really work hard to make you feel comfortable and happy. Most Europeans dont but they do not do that back home but American's do and the help really deserves it! The people there work 14 hour days 7 days a week with 3 days off and with that they still make you feel special. A dollar or two goes a long way.

Star Friends Staff - Leave your inhabitions at home and have fun! They are a great bunch of people that are there to make your stay memorable and FUN. Have a good time with them and dont be shy! Junior is a blast.

Things to do - There are extra things to pay for but the resort gives you so much to do that if you don't feel like going anywhere you don't have to. Snorkeling is right off the beach down by the RIU resort and the other way down the beach toward the little stall shops. There are plenty of nice fish there. There are non motor boats that you can use free BUT the guy at the window wanted us to pay $35.00 for insurance - DONT. I know people that went and didnt and everything was fine.

Shade - The shade huts at the beach do go early and fast but there are plenty at the poolside that are nice also. The guys always walk around to get you drinks all day.

Shows - Dont miss them. They are fun, get as close as you can, and enjoy them. They are hard working actors and singers as you can get.

BBQ on the beach - This was a nice addtion to lunch. They will BBQ something special every day at lunch, on day it was Piaya which everyone got a lobster and other sea food with rice that was piled on the plate, really good!
