I had mainly the same people come to my christmas party and they were really crazy and we got bored fast. I don't want that to happen again. Anybody got some really cool ideas of stuff to do? No spin the bottle and stuff my parents would flip.

You could do a scavanger hunt, or you could do a fun competition like Iron chef and then eat the results. Here is a website that lists a whole bunch of ideas. Hope you find something appealing to you.

Ideas for Coed Teen Party Games

Whether itâs a sweet 16 birthday party or just some friends getting together, itâs fun to have some interactive games that allow teens to show off their talents, engage in conversation, or take safe chances.

Music Video Charades. Divide the group into two mixed gender teams. Give them five minutes to come up with ten popular musical acts with videos on YouTube or on music television. Without using music, each team acts out a scene from a video for the others to guess.

Pop Culture Trivia. Look at teen magazines and MySpace for information on celebrities, pop stars, and other hot topics. Write out fun facts and have players answer. Prizes can be related to some of the trivia subjects.

Taste it. Put a variety of food items into small, numbered plastic containers. The object is to have a sample with your eyes closed and write down what you think you just ate. Items such as bittersweet chocolate, guacamole, strained carrots, spaghetti sauce, marshmallow fluff, ground up saltines, and the like work well for the harmless âewâ factor. Donât get too gross, and be aware of potential food allergies.

Touch it. Similar to taste it, you write down what you think you touched. Separate some tactile things into numbered paper lunch bags. Fun items such as a feather boa, gummy worms, a piece of velvet, double-stick tape, shaving cream or pudding, a nest of fishing line, and other unusual items make for funky fun.

Ice Breakers. Adults make it through many business networking functions by the grace of party ice breakers. Two popular games of this genre are sentence starters and Q&A.

In sentence starters, people go around the room finishing sentences such as:

* If I were a superhero, Iâd rid the world ofâ¦
* I have neverâ¦
* In the fifth grade, I onceâ¦
* If I were a dog, Iâd be aâ¦

In Q&A, every party attendee has a piece of paper attached to his or her back as they arrive. On the paper is a person, place, or thing. The attendee can make three attempts to guess whatâs on the paper by asking other party goers questions, to which they answer âwarm,â âcold,â or âyes.â

Make a Game Out of Party Food

Another idea for coed teen party games is to get everybody in the kitchen to make the groupâs party snacks.

Individual pizzas. Be it a meat-lovers or all cheese, thereâs a type of pizza for every teen. Prepare a variety of ingredients ahead of time, and use the packaged dough rounds, jarred sauce, and shredded cheese. Set out all the components, and let each attendee create his or her own pizza. This method also works well for building ice cream sundaes and banana splits, too.

Mock cocktails. Donât think of this as encouraging drinking behavior as much as a way to establish an understanding of how flavors mix and match. Set up a station of different juices, syrups, mixers
, and garnishes, along with fancy glasses, and a list of mocktails to try. Rule number one: no matter how âucky,â if you mixed it, you drink it!

When I first started doing our budget, I found we were spending lots of money on food. Eating out, snacks from the gas station, prepackaged snacks, vending machines... Now we save by planning a menu, buying bulk, buying the "big bag", and splitting things into portions in Ziploc bags. We always bring our lunch to work with us, cause we feel like if we are going to spend the extra money to go out to eat, we want to go out on a date.

Also, just writing out the budget and tracking our expenditures seems to help. My husband and I both hate to see that at the end of the month we went way over in any given category.
