Transporting fish a short distance?

I live right next to the college my boyfriend goes to and we're walking our fish over to one of the dorms.
We're both going to be gone for college break and need someone to watch them.
We have a 10 gallon tank with four mollys in it, all fairly small in size. Our biggest is about the size of my pointer finger.
It's within walking distance but it's also about 40 - 30 degrees out. We have no fish bags and no rubber bands.
Could we keep the fish in the tank or do they need to come out of it? How can we keep them warm on the walk without any heaters or anything?

I use tupperware containers, and put them in an insulated cooler or lunch bag, water wont splash out, bags wont break, temp stays the same. Take all the water out of your tank and put it in a cheap water pitcher(s) from the dollar store with a screw top. Your tank will be nice and light to carry and your water should stay the right temp.
