Now that I have to pack my 2.5 year olds lunch for daycare I need ideas. No they can't heat anything up. I need snack ideas too.
Thanks.

Answer
I've been doing the same thing for 2 years! I pack a sandwich every day (lunchmeat, PB&J, tuna salad, chicken salad, etc), then she gets a few of the following snacks:

Veggies:
carrot sticks & ranch
celery sticks & peanut butter
canned grean beans or carrots (she actually eats them!)

Fruit:
Fresh fruit when possible (plums, bananas, apples, peaches, grapes)
canned fruit cups

Dairy:
Go-gurt (yogurt in a plastic sleeve)
cheese sticks

Other:
dry cheerios
raisins
dried fruit (cranberries, cherries, etc)
granola bars
a little cup of salad
applesauce

I have small freezer packs that I put in her lunch box to keep things cool.

I always pack milk in a thermos, and when she finishes her milk they give her water.

Stay at home moms what do you during that day with you toddler?

Kaes mommy

I recently started staying home with my daughter who is 18months old. I am looking for some fun ideas. We do go outside & go for walks some days its to hott for that tho. Plus it still gets boring. I dont have tons of money to go places all the time. We go somewhere & do something fun atleast once a week. So what do you guys do with your toddler during the day to keep them busy? Also lunch Ideas i feel like i feed my daughter the same stuff over & over again. Thanks

Answer
*Dance parties - listen to upbeat music especially children tunes
*Paint - tape large pieces of paper to driveway - paper plate full of washable paint - no brushes!
*Water fun - bathtub with bubbles or outside in sprinkler, swimming pool, hose and buckets
*Bake simple treats together like making homemade trail mix or sugar cookies. Let her decorate with sprinkles
*Scavenger hunt - make a list of things (purple crayon, rock, toothbrush). Give her a bag, name off the things and she has to find them! So much fun!
*Make a book or collage - find pictures in old magazines, you cut out and help her glue or tape to paper
*Pile all the pillows in the floor to make a mountain
*Make fort with blankets with the dining room table
*Plant flowers in flower bed or planter
*Play dress up with your shoes, scarfs, hats etc...
*Story Time at the library
*A couple visits a month to a place with blow up houses like Jump zone
*Sidewalk chalk
*Make gifts for upcoming holidays or birthdays. Picture frames are always a hit
*Clean house together - give her a rag, a small broom or mop! They love to mimic!

Lunch ideas:
*whole grain pasta, veggies and marinara sauce
*tuna fish sandwich
*scrambled eggs - saute spinach before adding egg for extra goodness! top with cheese
*Soups
*Bean and cheese quesadilla - whole wheat tortilla, black beans, salsa and cheese!
*Grilled chicken, french fries (cut up potatoes or sweet potatoes and bake) - many different dipping sauces like bbq, honey mustard, mashed avocado, marinara sauce, melted cheese
*Omelets
*Leftovers from the dinner before are my fav! :D
