I am the chairperson of my school's prom favors committee. What are some things that you have received or like to receive as prom favors? Be creative!

note: we have a $10 per person budget.

Here are several ideas enclosed: http://hubpages.com/hub/_BellaMevents_HIGHSCHOOLPROMKEEPSAKE

My favorite is the lunch tote to prepare the kids for college and/or work after high school. It does not have to be customized. I would leave it plain. The pattern fits both boys and girls. You can add a customized tag to each from a computer. "Class of 2011" on a circle tag with glitter to jazz it up is something different. Also they can be wrapped in cellophane. The back of the tag can have a quote about the memories together that go on during high school. Many were made during lunch :)

Also kids always want a snack of some sort after prom after a long night of dancing so thats why I say add a few mini variety pack of snack bags to them. 2 in each one

What are some things to do with old Christmas cards? Like the ones you get in the mail from other people?

Answer
1. Use as to/from tags for gifts. Cut out parts of the picture or words and write to/from and the names on them.

2. Use them as postcards. Cut off the picture part and use the back of it to write a message and put on the stamp.

3. Make a puzzle. Cut off the front of one or more cards. On the back side of this, write a message to your special loved one. You can include some neat stickers on your message.

Cut the card front into pieces and shapes like a puzzle. Pop the pieces into an envelope and mail it to the child. They'll love getting mail and they'll have fun putting their puzzle - or puzzles - together to get your special message.

4. Make Christmas ornaments. This is a fun one for the kids to get involved in. Cut out different elements from card fronts and allow the kids to decorate with glitter glue, yarn, ribbon, glow-in-the-dark paint. Punch a hole in the top to tie a piece of yarn or ribbon for a hanger. Make sure the kids write their name and the year on the back to make it a neat little gift for the grandparents or someone special.

5. Make gift bags out of brown paper bags. Just glue pictures cut from old Christmas cards and glue on paper lunch bags, or paper shopping bags if you need a bigger bag.

6. Create new Christmas cards by gluing the fronts of used cards onto plain paper or card stock.

7. Make Christmas placemats. You can âlaminateâ the finished mat with clear contact paper if you wish.

8. Make holiday magnets. Glue cut outs from cards on flat magnets. Sometimes you can find unused magnets stuck in the âyellowâ phone books.

9. Make holiday bookmarks. Glue a vertical strip cut from a card onto a pretty ribbon.

10. Make all kinds of pretty boxes (directions in first link in sources)
