Why are Hasidic Jews so bigoted and why don't other Jews seem to care?

Honesty is

I've just come back from a few hours of browsing frumteens.com and am blown away by the bigoted attitudes expressed by not only the teens, but also by the rabbi moderator.

Just a few of the things I learned that many Hasidic Jews believe:

1. The world was created entirely for the sake of the Jews. Non-Jews are of trivial importance.

2. Non-Jews are not moral agents. They contribute nothing to the goodness or evil of the world in themselves. However, this doesn't seem to stop these same Jews from engaging in vicious tirades about "the goyim" and their "disgusting" behavior. (All non-Jews are lumped together.) They seem oblivious to the fact that the pop culture and media that promotes much of what they loathe is in fact populated by great numbers of secular Jews. Secular Jews are treated with kid gloves; they may do wrong, but they are merely misguided. The goyim are just plain wicked. (Perhaps Jeremiah is rolling in his grave...)

3. It is apparently an issur to praise non-Jews unless it is for self-serving purposes or can be rephrased as praise for Hashem.

4. The Hasidim regard Christianity as idolatry not only for Jews, but for non-Jews as well.

5. Non-Jews do not have the same soul that Jews do. They have something akin to an animal spirit with no ability to connect to Hashem.

What I'm wondering is how any significant community in modern America can take such things seriously and why the Hasidim are not called out on their attitudes more often by other Jews. If an organized group of non-Jews held these same attitudes toward Jews, every Jewish organization in America would be caterwauling. Instead we get silence. What gives?
A few quotes:

MODERATOR:

"When Hashem created the world, He knew that one day some time in the future, Goy so-and-so will be in danger, and that Yid so-and-so will be able to save him, and still He said not to save him because it is Shabbos. "

MODERATOR:

"ANswer [a non-Jewish neighbor] politely but with as little information as possible. It is not permitted to teach Torah to Akum. "

MODERATOR:

"[Non-Jews] do not contribute to or affect the elevation or pollution of the world."

Star:

"This world is getting sicker by the minute! It seems like the goyim have no shame! In the summer, they prance around in tank tops and worse. The whole point is that you should see the body. What's the point of that? "

Followed by Noni:

"i have been raised non-observant and my parents are very lenient about everything, so i'm sure that i don't have as much modesty as a lot of people on this board, but i really have to agree with you star! "

On page 4 of the thread we get this:

"Another thing, no one denies there are many good things among the non-jews as well. he gemarah talks much about things we can learn and exemplify from even the nations hat persecute us. But there is more disgustingness as well. It's better here..."

MODERATOR:

"Any praise that will possibly benefit you is permitted for you to give a Goy. That includes tellign him "job well done", since he will be encouraged to do a good job next time."

Answer
I lived in Israel among Jewish orthodox and ultra orthodox people, so I can speak of what I've seen, heard, and felt at their contact. I wanted to convert to Judaism at the time.
1) In Israel, it's the only country that I know that help the immigrant to settle in Israel: special supermarket with not VAT, money, etc. In the Western world, they are prejudiced against, and sometimes, assaulted or killed like in the UK or Ireland. Some are refused help even though they are assylum seekers! And the police escorts them back to the airport (France, Ireland, etc)

2) When I was robbed my luggage full with all my clothes in a bus going to Lod, and I told a friend who is a Hassidic Jewish lady(I forgot the name of their movement). She just came to her kitchen and took a full bag of clothes (new, not disgusting as you would see in the western world today!) and gave it to me. She was a friend but not my best friend and knew I was a goya (a Gentile).

3) When I was robbed of my wallet that contained my travel ticket, money, passport, I went to the Tourist Police to make my declaration of theft, the policeman who was Jewish gave me 20 Shekels and handed me a place for Jews to stay for free (for the week days, and 20 Shekels for the weekend). So I left went back to my hostel where I explained the situation, and they old me to forget about the money and tat I could stay longer if I wanted too, which I refused as I had another place to stay. I left and went to worship the G-d of Abraham, Its'hak and Yaakov as it was the beginning of Shabbath at the Kotel (wailing wall or western wall still standing that used to surround the ancient Temple). I sang and forgot about my troubles. G-d had pity on me and afterward, I met a man not far from it who sent me to a Jewish family (to eat in for the 3 meals at shabbath (Friday evening, Saturday Lunch and afternoon meal) I told the family I was a goya trying to convert and they were very nice, and helped me. They even gave a job as jeune-fille-au-pair.
I stayed in the Jewish hostel for 2 months, and then I had another Lubavich family that took me in exchange for helping the family.
I got back my wallet 3 weeks later with my ticket travel and passport! Nowhere in the world is welcoming is better than among the Ultra Orthodox Jews.
Conclusion: I have never received a warmer welcome than in Israel among the Jewish people be it orthodox or ultra orthodox. That's the only country in the world where the immigrant be it goy or Jew is welcomed instead of shunned.
So don't generalise check for yourself first!

I am fat at 15 and hate it. What can I do?

James B

Hiya.

My name is James and I am 15 and live in the UK.
I am 15 and weigh around 13 stone.
I look fat and jokingly get called fat at school. I laugh but it annoys me.
I dont know how many calories I eat in a day but I know they are over 2000. I want to stop eating and eat healthy but I have no self-determination. I dont eat breakfast because I cant eat that early in the morning so I snack during the morning. I dont have lunch because I eat something at 11 at school.

My day goes:

Bag of crisps
Chocolate bar
lucozade orange sport
samosa
iced bun
bag of crisps
chocolate bar
dinner
bowl of cereal
chocolate bar.

I have no self determination and I say to my self that I wont eat something but i always do. I cant make myself exercise because I am not determined enough to make myself do it.

What do I do?
Can I add I did ask for help not people to criticized.
Can you also not assum because I am fat I eat mc donalds when I dont.

Answer
Holy shit don't eat that stuff man. That is so bad like I can't even believe that is what you eat in a day. If you have no motivation, take it slow. You could stop eating chocolate bars for example, try to go as long as you can without one and if you do have to give in, don't have the whole thing. You'll get used to not having them and then you will crave them less and less. You have to find something that you can replace with all of those unhealthy things. Who ever is buying that for you needs to stop. Make a routine of when you're going to eat your meals, you seem like you need some structure. If you eat lunch at school at 11am, consider that your breakfast, try and eat every four hours or so. Also, don't laugh along with those stupid "jokes".
